“The heavens are telling of the glory of God;
And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech,
And night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
Their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their utterances to the end of the world.
In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.” (Psalm 19:1-6 NASB1995)
As I was prayerfully considering the relevance of this passage of Scripture to today, the Lord brought to mind Romans 1:18-32 which begins by saying:
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures" (vv. 18-23).
So, what is this teaching us? God has revealed himself to us through his creation. His invisible attributes, his eternal power, and his divine nature can be clearly seen in all that he created. So all humans are without excuse who suppress the truth of what can be known about God and his divine nature via their own unrighteousness and ungodliness in their evil deeds. For even though they can see God and his divine nature through his creation, they do not honor him as God, but they choose their own false gods, instead.
Even more so do these words apply for those who have been taught the Scriptures, or who have taught them themselves, and who know what the Scriptures teach regarding repentance (a change of heart and mind resulting in a change of behavior), and the necessity of dying to sin and of walking (in conduct) in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, as required by God. Definitely all are without excuse when they deliberately and habitually ignore the commands of God and they create their own gods of worship, instead.
And then the passage of Scripture in Romans 1 continues by describing some of these sinful behaviors that the people have chosen over God and over his holiness and righteousness. And they include the lusts of the flesh and hearts given over to impurity in the dishonoring of their bodies. And so they engage themselves in degrading passions, and in homosexuality, and/or in other forms of sexual immorality and idolatry and adultery. For they exchanged the truth about God for a lie, believing that sinning is still okay.
And the list goes on to include depraved minds, improper behaviors, evil, wickedness, greed, envy, murder, deceit, gossip, malice, slander, arrogance, and disobedience to authority, etc. And, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do they practice such things, but they also give hearty approval to others who practice them. And I see this last part happening much via the viewing of movies, TV shows, and videos of a morally impure and improper nature.
Bottom line here is that we need to take God and his word seriously, for this is of critical nature that we are living in submission to the will of God in walks of surrender to our Lord in obedience to his commands in holy living. For if sin is what we practice, and not obedience to God, it won’t matter what our lips have professed. We will not inherit eternal life with God. Instead, we will face the wrath of God, we will be judged by our works, and we will be sentenced to eternity without God. Please take this seriously!!

When I was walking along the way,
My Lord was with me, and He did say,
“My child I’m with you. I hear you pray,
‘Oh, help me, Lord! Need You today!’”
He is my friend, near to the end.
Gently leads me. His servant be.
He helps me pray – knows what to say.
He’s all I need. On Him I feed.
When I am wond’ring of what to do,
He gently leads me to what is truth.
He is my helper. He strengthens me.
When I’m in want, supplies my need.
He comforts me with all His love.
Gives me His grace from heav’n above.
I heed His call to watch and pray,
To guard my heart throughout each day.
When He is calling to come to Him,
To let Him lead you, trust Him within,
How will you answer to Him today?
Will you say, “Yes, Lord, have your way”?
Do not neglect to let Him in,
Cleanse you from sin, made new within.
Leave all your sin, obey your Lord,
Trust in His Word – His mighty Sword.
