Pastor Adrian Rogers says: 'The misuse of anything as precious as time should be a crime. If somebody steals your car...you can acquire another. If they snatch your wallet...a few phone calls would salvage the majority of your concerns. But who can you call when you lose your time?' Wise old King Solomon reminds us we '...must give an account to God for everything [we] do' (Ecclesiastes 11:9 NLT), because for most of us, 'one of these days' generally means 'none of these days.' How you spend your days is how you spend your life, so Paul writes: 'Make every minute count.' But how do you do that? Here's some ideas:

1) Learn to say 'no'. Stress happens when your heart says no but your mouth says yes!' Don't let good stuff prevent you from being involved in really great stuff. That might mean backing off on some activities so you can make space for your higher calling.

2) Learn to flow in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, '"...you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me"' (John 15:4 NLT). He uses the image of branches in a tree - no life flows without a permanent connection being in place. The Holy Spirit is like the life in the tree constantly supplying the nutrients the branch needs to produce fruit.

3) Learn to be spontaneous. It might look cool to be laid back about life but there's nothing cool about wasting your life. When God prods you to do something you don't say, 'In a bit' you get on with it straight away. Living like this will mean guarantee one thing: life will never be boring!
