Be who you're meant to be
'THE SPIRIT HELPS US IN OUR WEAKNESS...' ROMANS 8:26
The Bible says that you are like a poem. Listen: '...we are His workmanship...' (Ephesians 2:10 NIV). It's immediately obvious but the word 'workmanship' actually comes from the Greek word 'poeo' which is used in our English word 'poetry'.
So if you're 'His workmanship' then you're an expression of God's creative personality! No two poems and no two people are the same. '...we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us...' (1 Corinthians 12:6 CEV). God uses all types: Geeks, Moshers, Skaters, Chavs; from people who are loaded to the poorest of the poor.
Whether you're loud or shy, fat or thin, funny or serious, short or tall; in Jesus we all have one thing in common. What? He's given you His Holy Spirit to help you display the amazing characteristics of God in your life. By choosing to do things like love instead of hate and forgive instead of holding a grudge you are choosing to live like Jesus. 'The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others.' No exceptions.
And when we work according to God's plan and not our own, our gifts affect the world we live in and in the end make an eternal difference. If you're read this and saying to yourself, 'that's ok for other people, but I'm just little old me, I can't do anything on my own.' You know what you're right that's why God gave you His Spirit, '...the Spirit helps us in our weakness...' (Romans 8:26). Without God's help you're stuffed so today let the Holy Spirit work through you and be who you're meant to be.
