'TO ONE HE GAVE FIVE TALENTS, TO ANOTHER, TWO, AND TO ANOTHER, ONE.' MATTHEW 25:15
In a world that celebrates fame and fortune how do you handle being Mr or Ms Invisible? Do you secretly resent the people who get the big breaks and the open-door opportunities? Before you answer, consider this: there was only one Moses whose amazing career spans four Old Testament books, and only one Paul who was called to write half the New Testament. The rest of us are called to be heroes of a different kind, we're the 'iHeroes'; we are invisible but important. Invisible because we are one out of six billion people on the planet and that's a very big crowd! Important because our value was established at the cross.
So when people overlook you, stop and remind yourself 'God values me so highly that He thought I was worth dying for.' Have you heard about the one-note musician? She unpacked her violin, took her seat in the orchestra, arranged her music sheets and tuned up her instrument. As the concert began the conductor cued one group of musicians after another until finally her moment arrived, the time for her one note to be played! The conductor signalled, she played the note and the moment was over. Just like that! The orchestra played on and the one-note player sat there quietly for the rest of the concert; not disappointed that she'd played only one note but with a sense of fulfilment that she'd played it in tune, on time and with style!
Have you heard of Ananias? He shows up once in the Bible, to lead Paul to Christ, then bye (Acts 9:10-19). He's a one-note player, but what a note! Take a lead from him!
