'JESUS I KNOW, AND PAUL I KNOW...BUT WHO ARE YOU?' ACTS 19:15
Today we're going to squeeze a bit more out of the story we started on Saturday.
4) When the 'evil day' comes there's no pretending! (Ephesians 6:13). The evil spirit in this tormented man exposed the weakness in the seven religious brothers. In a demonic freak-out he took them all on and before they knew what'd hit them they were running out of the house naked, stripped of their pretence. Don't try this at home unless you know you've got the real thing! Are you ready to drop your wisecracks to simply stand on His Word? Have you been through the time of testing when you follow Jesus even when you can't understand or explain where He's taking you? It's better to be honest about where you're at than to get yourself in over your head.
5) Demons don't have a database! The evil spirit in this man spoke out: 'Jesus I know, and Paul I know...but who are you?' Satan isn't all-knowing like God. Yes, he has his evil agents stalking around here and there generally causing mayhem but they can't keep up with the advance of God's Kingdom. Plus, even if the demons of Ephesus had a hit-list, these guys wouldn't have been on it; they were no threat to the Kingdom of Darkness but are you? Maybe you're still dealing with your own lack of confidence saying, 'I can't do anything, I'm rubbish.' Listen: It's not you the enemy is afraid of; it's the Spirit of God that's in you! 'Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world' (1 John 4:4).
