I prayed for quite awhile yesterday before I decided, to reply to this message, the one below. It is difficult for me to address something like this but sometimes it has to be done. Today while I debated to post it, I was in chat, we were discussing, well for a bit fear mongering and things I do from home, by adding omitted facts to bad stories to avert hysterical responses to those poorly presented issues. It was at that point that I realized this thread had to be added. With this forward. As for the title are these really Christian attributes?
Wow!! Where do I start? Hmm, ah ha, I think I got it. I’ll just lay it out for you.
This is a quote from one of my recent posts here,
“As sinners no one deserves a place in God's Kingdom, but through grace in all faith, lights up how we lived our lives and whether we followed Jesus' lead”
The issue is the underlined part in italics this is the reply I got and apparently, why(in bold)?
“You posted this a little backwards and I'm not sure if it is a typing error or something other but the scripture reads we are saved by grace through faith and not by faith through grace.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faithand that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:; ”
The differences are immense and cause the gospel to be misunderstood.
In an attempt to see how I could be that far off I looked at the key words as to the point I was making. All the words are define via the Greek Dictionary as that is where they were translated to, and include the reference number.
(1) grace (5485); the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude (n.b. the life, the; or more exactly, specifying that), In this case the life, a specific person’s life.
*All Christians have to know that the grace from God is a gift and can only be given by God.
(2) saved (4982); deliver or protect, be(make) whole.
*Straight forward, right.
(3) faith (4102) conviction of the truthfulness of God, reliance on Christ for salvation.
*Again, as with (1) a Christian knows that this personal conviction is essential to even be a Christian otherwise you are only Christ-curious and in search of the light.
What I wrote does become clear, “through(from start to finish) grace (God’s gift) in all faith (our personal conviction), lights up how we lived our lives and whether we followed Jesus’ lead”.
Then I reread the reply I received; “we are saved by grace through faith and not by faith through grace” The poster is correct that view is very much a self-anointed doctrinal belief that total warps what Jesus taught us in the Gospel. What is underlined, I never said. The sad part is, this is not the first time my entries here have been twisted to this degree. I intentionally omitted the names involved because I will not believe it was done out of malice, but instead the irrational fear driven assumption that society’s acceptance that slang words have any basis in fact or truth, any that may exist is tenuous at best. This becomes my point, this is from another reply on an entry of mine, “Is it possible that the name you have chosen clouds the issue? Just wondering.......seems the issue has gotten clouded?” I was here, in TJ, for a matter of weeks, while cruising my profile, I discovered how easy it is to find both threads and posts made by specific members. If anyone has questions for me simply ask, that’s all I ask. Also by viewing my profile will net you li’l tidbits like this one

I do use slang, quite often. However, before using it I take the time to understand the facts behind the slang and the truth behind what it is used for. Never once have I used it to attack of attempt to demoralize another.
God bless you all and may you work and play in the Will of the Lord.
