I have the blessing of working at a place where I encounter young children in foster homes or in trouble, adults who are confused and various other individuals who need Jesus. There is this old man who comes in every so often in a wheelchair. It's ragged and his clothes are never clean. He sits slumped over and often forgets what he is saying in the middle of his sentences. He is and has the appearance of being homeless.
Today, he was eagerly trying to get on a computer to check his email. For someone in their 70's and severely disabled this wasn't easy. I went to help him as much as I could and he explained to me that he wanted to print out this page because it was so good he wanted to share it with everyone. He gave me his last dollar to purchase the copies to hand-out to everyone he knew that needed them.
As I went to hand him his papers he said that I had to read it before he left. As I began to read the email, I saw inspiring quotes of hope from the lives of Moses, Paul, Peter and Jesus. He eagerly looked at me and asked if I was a "believer?" I saw Jesus sitting in a wheelchair today talking to those in this world most people shun...spending all he had to share the gospel to anyone who had the ears to listen. I felt lead to keep him prayer again, just like I do every time I see him. Please pray that this precious gentleman is reminded every second of his days that the Lord is his sole provider and that in Christ alone will he receive comfort and allow him the peace and joy of serving the King of Kings...I truly was inspired. Sometimes I forget I have the blessing of being in a place where prayer is constantly needed and then the Lord sends someone my way to remind me….please pray for this faithful brother in Christ….he is touching lives, he touched mine…..
