In Matthew 12:38-40 some of the Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign to prove He was the Messiah. As we read, Jesus said the only sign He would give was that He would be in the earth for three days and three nights.
As we know in subsequent events Jesus was crucified and was resurrected. But the traditional view of a late Good Friday burial and an Early Sunday morning resurrection doesn't fit or add up to match the sign that Jesus gave that He was the prophesied Messiah.
Did Jesus make a mistake with His calculations or is it with the customary observance that we follow today.
If we count back the time Jesus said He would spend entombed from His resurrection than we should be looking at late Wednesday depending on what was happening in the Jewish community at the time.
As a lot of people know Easter is non-biblical. The Apostles did not keep the custom nor did the early church.
Should we be following a practice that is linked to paganism.
What do rabbits and easter eggs have to do with the resurrection.
But they do have a lot to do with the goddess of spring- eostre.
