In Matthew 12:38-40 some of the Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign to prove He was the Messiah. As we read, Jesus said the only sign He would give was that He would be in the earth for three days and three nights.
As we know in subsequent events Jesus was crucified and was resurrected. But the traditional view of a late Good Friday burial and an Early Sunday morning resurrection doesn't fit or add up to match the sign that Jesus gave that He was the prophesied Messiah.
Did Jesus make a mistake with His calculations or is it with the customary observance that we follow today.
If we count back the time Jesus said He would spend entombed from His resurrection than we should be looking at late Wednesday depending on what was happening in the Jewish community at the time.
As a lot of people know Easter is non-biblical. The Apostles did not keep the custom nor did the early church.
Should we be following a practice that is linked to paganism.
What do rabbits and easter eggs have to do with the resurrection.
But they do have a lot to do with the goddess of spring- eostre.
The sign of three days and three nights is the only sign Jesus gave us to show He was our Savior-should we honor Him with anything less?

Aside from the chocolate addictions, who determines which days are set aside for worship? The death of Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and wiped our slate clean. The Resurrection does assure us that we may also receive eternal life.
But if celebrations and customs come from non-biblical practices even if the motives are good, it runs counter to God's Command that we must worship Him to His instructions -Deut: 12:28-32.
the celebration of Jesus Resurrection is nowhere to be found in scripture.
The New Testament Church continued to observe the annual Passover to commemorate the death of Jesus Christ but used the the new symbols of bread and wine that He instituted.

Well, for me. Easter is my favorite Holiday. More so even than Christmas.
Because of eggs and Chocolate bunnies??? No. I do eat chcolate bunnies, but that isn't why I celebrate Easter.

We serve a risen savior!! Hallelujah he is risen!!! I don't know what date it was, I don't know what day of the week it was for sure. Was it on the 3rd day or after the 3rd day.. who cares?? He is risen!!!

None of us would have any hope if he didn't rise again!! 1 Cor 15:14

If the origin of Easter was a pagan Holiday, and it bothers you. By all means don't partake of it. But if it's a day you set aside to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, what better day could there be to celebrate? We may not truly know the real date, so lets just pick one and celebrate, Easter is as good as any.

As for eating chocolate bunnies...

1 Cor 10:25 Eat anything that is sold in the meat market without asking questions for conscience' sake;

In the end, it all comes down to two things. Do you feel guilty about doing it?

I expanded on your reference to Deuteronomy 12, this provides more context.

Deuteronomy 12:26-28

26 But take your consecrated things and whatever you have vowed to give,
and go to the place the LORD will choose. 27 Present your burnt offerings on
the altar of the LORD your God, both the meat and the blood. The blood of your
sacrifices must be poured beside the altar of the LORD your God, but you may
eat the meat. 28 Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you,
so that it may always go well with you and your children after you, because
you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the LORD your God.

These instructions apply to the Law of Moses, to the Jews judge not.

Specifically to the people God brought out of Egypt.

Pay attention to the context judge not, instructions regarding sacrifices and offerings.
Notice also " 28 Be careful to obey all these regulations". Judge not, if you do not obey
all the regulations God will not be impressed. That is what your reference to Deut states.

I can prove from the Old Testament that the Law of Moses was given only to the Jews.

I would hazard a guess that is the agenda for everyone on this site. They ask a question to everyone but already have a fixed immovable answer they cling to.
You and others are prime examples. Have you changed your mindset on major doctrine you believe based on scripture others have posted that is completely opposite to your beliefs? The Bible says Satan deceives the whole world. Look Brother, glad you see it for what it is. I am not going to keep any day special for the Lord. I wake up, Pray in tongues, and what would you have me do today Lord?

I can't even fathom a day where there is a day different than any other day. It's me, and God all day, weather it's give someone some money, teach on something, witness to someone, help someone, or have my nose in the Bible.

Easter: its a day, so what. I am with what Paul said.
1Co 5:12 What [business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders?

We are told tolook into our own camps. Who really cares if someone Celebrates Easter? The world with the help of the devil has taken about everything from what God created and twisted it. Easter with it's bunnies is just 1 out of a infinite number of things people mess up. I don't even see American Holiday's in the Bible. Why care?

What I do care about is people. Ones that are hurting, need healing, are broke, need answers.

This forum is good for four things.

1) change your thinking on something you did not see before.
2) look at opposing things you never thought of before that challenges what you believe, to make you prove what you believe is right, making you stronger.
3) come here to fellowship and worship Jesus.

What you need to realize Judge Not is that the members that mostly post here are set in their ways, and in belief's. So, it's not about us "Members" seeing eye to eye on everything.

It's about the 218 people that are on right now we track reading all the post who never sign up. They read thread after thread getting answers, and looking at different perspectives. We have like 24,000 each month that just come here for the Word of God.

That is what this is about. Chad and all the Mod team is aware of the real ministry going on here. It's the few members like us that do know lots of Word giving them all light.

So don't get to hung up on the fact that other members here are not changing to your belief system. Look at the Larger picture.

The departure of Christendom from Judaism began in the 2nd century,
so any connection with the Feasts was lost, and the organized Roman
Church sought to create new Holy Days based on available pagan
