"The Lord said unto Abraham after that Lot was separated from him...." Genesis 13:14

There are some things that the Lord will never say to the unsaved. There are some things which
the Lord will not say to a baby Christian. But as we advance in the life that is in Christ, the Lord will
speak more and more to us. Abraham was the friend of God (James 2:23), and the Lord talked to him freely.

Within our hearts we have the struggle of Abraham and Lot, the spiritual and the carnal, and it is only
when the carnal is permitted to depart that faith receives , in place of the affection and of the emotions,
the communion of the Spirit. Then God will reveal to us the fullness of His desire to posses us, and to
promote our fellowship with Him.

It was in this moment that God said to Abraham, "Look from the place where thou art.........."(Gen 13:14)
The place of separation becomes the place of vision. We may find ourselves in the midst of a struggle
which we think will over-come us, but when we yield to His mastery and are separated from all that would
keep us from the heavenly vision, we will find the very valley of struggle to be an over-look upon a panarama
of glory that is reserved for us.

The place of death becomes the place of life. It is the death of an earthly affection, but it is the life of God
that fills our souls and leads us on to the walk of possession with Him. We may think we are falling into a pit
of despair if we allow some love to be cut from our life, but we shall discover that from the pit we can see
the stars. It does not make any difference where you are today, God says, "Look from the place where thou art."
You may live in Privation Street in the city of Austerity, or your cottage may be named 'Despair Cottage', but
if you look.....you can find God there,
