This verse from Deuteronomy 5:33 says Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. (New Living Translation)

I ask you, are you on the path? Have you strayed from the road Jesus placed you on to go your own way?

If you get off the path, you will be in darkness. If you stay on the path, you will be in the light, going toward The Light!

Have you taken His hand so that He can guide, direct, and lead you? He is reaching it out to all of us. We must accept it and get on the path He is taking us on.

Don't be afraid. Jesus is not going to let you fall. He is faithful to see that you reach the end of the race.

Starting is a good beginning, but the end is where the reward is.

Some thoughts to ponder and then ask God where you are. On the path? Straying? Getting up? Crying out to God to save you?

He's waiting. Take His hand. Dance with Him. Follow the illuminated path to the end...to where we'll see Him face-to-face.

Are you coming?

I know that I have strayed a few times. Who hasn't? Don't kid yourself and say you haven't. 'All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.'

The thing is...we all need to get up...sometimes with help...dust us off...and say 'Okay, Jesus. I'm ready again. Just don't let me fall.' It isn't God who let's us fall but ourselves. Our eyes get on someone else...that pretty girl...that hot guy. Our minds get on something else...that nice car...that purse or dress...whatever. Our hearts get on something else...anything else. You get the picture.

I know what my temptations are. Wow...and those things can make me fall off the path! :-S I need my compass, my guide book, the Bible, to lead me to where I SHOULD be going! I need Jesus to take my hand...to steer me in the right direction and He will! That is the greatest part!

So, you are walking along the path. And you look to the left...and you keep looking...and looking...until your focus is on what is there in the darkness...in the bushes more than what is straight ahead.

Who cares about the Light...I want to know what is in the bushes...whatever it is called my name. Way cool! Then, I start to drool. Hey I want that! and so...

I leave the path. I go into this darkness...(to be continued)

Where am I? What? I hear the voice calling my name again. "Where are you?" I shout.

A laugh. Not nice. Not friendly. A menacing laugh. "My precious little Jesus freak." A cackle. "You're mine!"

I back up. I run into something. I touch it. It's...it's...I turn and look.

No I want to scream. Not that. It has five horns, three eyes, and putrid breath. A monster. A beast.

It grabs my arm and pulls me deeper into the darkness. (to be continued)

Past many, many trees we go. The claws of the monster start digging into my arm. I try to get free, but the monster snarls at me. "You puny human. I could rip you apart." Its breath brought bile up my throat. I'm going to vomit.

The monster continues the journey. I can't see where we have been or where we are going. The trees cover the sky and no light shines through the leaves. Warm liquid is dripping down my arm. Blood.

The monster sniffs the air. (to be continued)

I smelled a sweet aroma. "What is that?" I asked.

"Hurry! He's coming." The monster yanked me through the trees.

A branch hit my shoulder. I tripped over roots, keeping up with the monster.

"But who is he?"

"Shut up! He'll hear you!" The monster slapped me in the face.

My cheek throbbed. I heard a voice. "Who...?"

The monster cursed and spoke intangible words. "Quickly! We are almost there!"

"Where?"

"My Master's. Master of the Darkness. Master of Evil." The monster shrieked. "Satan, King of Darkness, Evil, Lies. All that is dark. Fear him."

I backed away.

The monster roared with gee. "Come my prisoner. Master is waiting. He can't save you now!" (to be continued)

I don't want to meet this Master of Darkness. I wanted to turn back. To return to the path where I belonged.

As the journey continued, I watched over my shoulder. I saw a light moving through the darkness.

What could it be? I wasn't afraid of the light. I was drawn to it.

The monster grabbed my hair at the nap of my neck and hissed, "You, listen up. He's not coming for you so don't even think of it."

"Who isn't..."

"That name will forever be forgotten to me. I will not say it."

On the wind, through the trees, I heard the name. JESUS.

"That name!" I cried.

"Shut up!" The monster shrieked. "My master is you master now!"

"No! Jesus!" (to be continued)

The monster slapped me, knocking me to the ground. I crawled away, but he caught my ankle and hauled me back.

"Get up!" The monster bellowed.

I scrambled to my feet and started to run. I heard the monster in pursuit of me, but I kept going.

"Come back here!"

I saw a figure in front of me. "Help!" I yelled.

A hand reached out to me. "Come, my child."

The monster's breath was on my neck. I felt the claws on my back.

No, no, I whispered. I'm so close. So very close. (to be continued)

"Help me, Jesus!" I cried out.

The figure smiled. "I'm here. You have the authority to defeat this demon."

"How?" I whispered. The monster clawed at my shirt. I stood still, listening to The One who could save me.

"Say to it 'In Jesus' name, get behind me! Jesus' blood is against you!"

As Jesus said those things, I felt the demon tremble. I repeated the words.

"Stop! You lie! He is nothing!"

"Say the name of Jesus, demon!" I said, staring it in the face.

"Never weakling!"

"The Name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous run into it and are safe! You were defeated with satan, your loser of a master, when Jesus died and conqueror death and the grave! I don't and won't listen to you anymore! Get behind me!"

The demon shrank back, hissing and cursing. (to be continued)

"There is none like Jesus! No not one!" I walked up to the demon and pushed him to the ground.

He hissed and fumed. "You'll pay for this!"

I strolled away, ignoring the thing that had no power over me. I smiled as I stopped in front of Jesus.

"Well done!" Jesus said.

Looking over Jesus' shoulder, I saw a fellow human stepping off the path. "Jesus!" I said, pointing.

"Go. Go." Jesus said.

I shouted at the other. "Stop! Stop! Don''t come near here. Turn back!"

"Why?" he asked.

"I know what is out here. Trust me!"

He ran back to the path. I scanned the forest for Jesus. He was gone.

"I'm still here. I will never leave you nor forsake you. Now, get back on the path I have for you!"
