*Death occurs when the soul or spirit leaves the body, as personhood begins at ensoulment
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren..And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: (Luke 1:36, 41 KJV) *The babe was quickened or viable at 6 months, or 24 weeks, therefore becoming a person. The scripture reference to 6 months seems to indicate this, for what other reason is that timing stated?

"And if two men strive and smite a woman with child, and her child be born imperfectly formed, he shall be forced to pay a penalty: as the woman's husband may lay upon him, he shall pay with a valuation. But if it be perfectly formed, he shall give life for life," (Exod 21:22-23 LXXE)
**Creationism, teaches that God creates each individual soul, and Traducianism teaches that both body and soul come from the parents. In prior centuries and generally at America's founding, Creationism was the dominant view among the Reformed as well as Baptists. Lutherans have historically been Traducianists, so both views have been held by Christians. Today, evangelicals in the abortion fight, have been taking the Traducianist view. Creationism rests more securely on the clear, explicit statements of scripture, the verses I have put into this post.
