[Matthew 5:22 KJV] "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
[Matthew 5:22 NIV] "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."
[Mark 3:5 KJV] "And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched [it] out: and his hand was restored whole as the other." ********** The NIV removes "without a cause" from this verse. Jesus expressed anger and therefore would be in danger of hell fire according to the rendering of the NIV.

What Jesus says is true. Jesus often does not follow his own advice, though. Jesus calls his disciples fools in Luke 24:25 (KJV). He did face judgement by the council and was crucified. He also spent 3 days in the heart of the earth after he died, which is considered by many to be Hell. So, his words were true, but he broke it.

I spent a long time pondering Jesus breaking these very commandments years ago. I only read the KJV at that time. It is like a hurdle in faith, and there are many more. Understanding these difficulties, however, strengthens the faith.

Jesus did spend 3 days in torment. He was in Abram's bosom. There are two compartments in hell.
