The Narrow Gate....Mathew 7: 13-14

Verse 13: Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel on it.
Verse 14: But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.

When I read these passages in the Bible it explains that many people will travel through the wide gate. This is because in life, sometimes it can be difficult being a Christian. The unbelieving people of this world sometimes make fun of Christians, and say it is a waste of time believing in God.

I have some friends and relatives who do not follow their faith in God. It often really concerns me, but they think they know best. Many of these people who I know, were brought up in the Christian faith and came from Christian homes. The troubles and concerns of this life have left them leaving their faith and not attending church anymore.

How will God judge those who never had the chance to hear the Word of God?
Will these people walk through the wide gate to hell, or judged by God as not having the opportunity to hear the Christian faith. Then be accepted into heaven through the narrow gate to life?

There are some circumstances when people are isolated from the Christian faith and are born into their beliefs, so have never been given the chance to hear the Word of God fully.
eg. People of other faiths,...Budists, Hindus etc....People in remote isolated areas of our earth
.

Your comments are welcome.

Only the narrow way leads to life. The narrow way is via Jesus who said "I am th Way............" John ch 14

To follow Jesus on that narrow way may mean knocking some lumps off our lives, which could drag against the sides, and hinder progress. It could mean adopting a different attitude, and becoming more acceptable to fellow men.

Envy Jealousy Malice Pride Self-will etc, human nature without Jesus can be so corrupt. "The heart is deceitful above all things.......who can know it?" Jer 17:9

To get on the narrow Way we have to accept Jesus, we have to repent, that is turn away, renounce all such selfish desire, and follow Him.

Good news about the broad way......There is room to turn!

Thank you for all your replies.

I will have a listen to the link, "heathen that never heard". It should answer many of my questions on this topic.

I know God is a just and caring God, and knows everyone's individual circumstances. His decisions are always good, and he cares for all people throughout the world.

Thank you Cody for the link "heathen that Never Heard".

Unfortunately I was unable to open up this link. The web page would not load at all on my computer. It could be that I may require some different alterations to my computer,to open up this link. I am still using the old dial up method, when connecting to the internet.

I will eventually work it out, what I am doing wrong on my computer, and will be able to listen to the link, "heathen that Never Heard."
Thanks again.

God bless
