Well first of all i'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time to view this thread. i would also like you to know that i have spent alot of time on this issue and i have struggled with trying to understand it and this is what i have come to on the topic. So the question is can we lose our salvation?
1 Cor. 9:24-27 We have to beat our bodies to train ourselves to do what is right 10:12-13 if we truely want to do the Lord's will He will give us the strength to do so, if we choose not we are without excuse(this is considered premeditated sin).
Phili. 4:13 God gives us the strength to do anything (through Him we can overcome sin). James 1:14-15 We have the choice to sin or obey God. 1John 3:6 Our walk is proof of our salvation or proof that we need it. Romans 7:14-25 Paul is speaking of non deliberate sin. Gal. 5:16-18 if we live by the spirit we will walk in it. Romans 10:9-10 confess and you will be saved.
When we come to Christ we are called to repent and "repent" means to change(We are truely sorry for our sins so we turn from our old ways and become new). 2nd, coming to Christ in the beginning we may suffer from certain sins but through the Holy Spirit we change, we must and are expected to if we claim to walk with Christ. yet if we intentionally continue to sin we are not truely sorry and if we are not truely sorry how can we expect to be truely forgiven, we must ask for forgiveness and change.3rd if we have been saved, walked the holy life and then backslide, whats going on! is our salvation questionable ?do we want to live for Christ or ourselves Heb. 6:4-6 and 10:26-27 we cannot straddle the fence, of course it's always hard but we must chose, our lives or Christ's you cant have both. Christ died to save us from sin, not so we could sin and get away with it
