Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Psalm 149:3-5 NKJV
What kind of mind-set do you bring to worship? Do you wonder if God is present? Do you worry what God thinks of you? It’s possible that you may believe God could take you or leave you.
If you come to God in humility, and if you acknowledge your need for His mercy, then you have nothing to fear. More importantly, you can rest assured that God takes delight in you. He desires for you to be confident in His support and to come into His presence with songs of praise. God does not want His people to be gloomy. Rather, His presence can bring great rejoicing to those who live according to His teachings.
Today is the day to rejoice in the Lord and His presence. Music and singing belong in worship, and you are invited to participate in it. When you return home, you can continue to sing to the Lord, even carrying these songs to your bed at night.
Prayer: Lord, may Your songs of praise and joy be on my lips this week so that I can fully delight in Your mercy and goodness.
