The judgment(s)

Nobody likes to talk about this. Some churches avoid this like the plague. Even Christians don't like to talk about it.
But the Bible says it IS going to happen one day.

Rev 20:11; Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
Rev 20:12; And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
Rev 20:13; And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

We should hope there is a rapture or at least a second coming where Jesus gathers up the saints, because if He doesn't whoever is left in the ground
(or the sea) ... IS... going to be judged. Period, no ifs, ands or buts.

"the books were opened"... the books that contain the story of everyone's life. No matter what you think you did in secret, no matter what you think
God doesn't know about.... He knows. It's in one of His books somewhere. These people are judged according to whatever they did, and EVERYTHING they did is in the books. Everything. There are no innocent people. (perhaps infants) but for everyone else, no one is innocent. No one.
Why does God harm innocent people? There are NO innocent people. None.

"another book was opened"... "which is the Book of Life". Thank God for the Book of Life... literally. Thank Jesus. Without it we are in trouble.

Rev 20:15; And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

If your name isn't in the Book of Life... into the fire you go. It's that simple.

God doesn't let the dog's poop in His house. He offered you a chance to let Jesus clean it off for you. Jesus was willing to take all your "poop and vomit".
Actually "poop" is too nice a word. But Jesus was willing to clean you up. You don't even have to do it all yourself. and you rejected Him.
You rejected Jesus. Maybe you're still rejecting Him today... and people don't believe God will be angry or pour His wrath out on them.
He sent His Son... His only Son... to be punished and tortured in your place. To be nailed to a cross, whipped, beaten, mocked, and have a crown
of thorns pressed down on Himself. He was pierced with a spear. ...all so your poop and vomit could be cleaned up.
You're going to reject that, and think God is OK with that? Good luck with that.

Rev 11:18; "And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth."

The nations will be enraged. They will think they are more righteous than God. But God's wrath will be upon them. ..."and the time came for the dead
to be judged". The time is coming.

Matt 10:15; "Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
Matt 11:22; "Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
Mat 11:24; "Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you."
Luke 10:14; "But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.

These are the cities God rained fire and brimstone on a destroyed. He killed every single person left in these cities.
As bad as that sounds.... it will be more "tolerable" for those cities than it will be for some people on the judgment day.

Not only are people going to be judged by what they did, but also for what they didn't do.

Matt 25:31; "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.
Matt 25:32; "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
Matt 25:33; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
Matt 25:34; "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Matt 25:35; 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
Matt 25:36; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'
Matt 25:37; "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?
Matt 25:38; 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?
Matt 25:39; 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
Matt 25:40; "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
Matt 25:41; "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
Matt 25:42; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;
Matt 25:43; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.'
Matt 25:44; "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'
Matt 25:45; "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'

The simple question here is... are you are sheep or a goat?

Matt 25:46; "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

There are people who say this passage isn't about salvation, but they are wrong. Verse 46 only gives two options here...
eternal punishment... or eternal life. Let me give you a clue here... eternal punishment is NOT salvation.
People are going to be judged by what they did, and what they didn't do. If you have Jesus on your side, you don't have to be perfect.

... you sometimes hear "God is love". ( 1 Jn 4:8; 1 Jn 4:16; ) there are two verses that say so.
There are over 200 verses in the old testament alone that talk about the anger of God.
There are over 15 verses in the new testament that talk about the wrath of God.

God sent His Son to pay for your sins. The penalty you owe. If you reject this, and think you will get by because "God is love" think again.
Do you think He loves you more than His only Son who you are rejecting?

John 5:28; "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
John 5:29; and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Acts 24:15; having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.
Acts 24:16; "In view of this, I also do my best to maintain always a blameless conscience both before God and before men.

Yes, the saved (the righteous) will be resurrected. Jesus divides this into two groups. Those who did good deeds, and those who did evil deeds.
Which group are you in?

Yes, those who did good deeds will be resurrected, but what many people don't realize is... those who did evil deeds will be resurrected also.
Paul is quoted in Acts saying there will be a resurrection of "both" the righteous... and.. "the wicked".

The evil, wicked people WILL be resurrected. (does resurrection mean their bodies or their souls, if only their bodies, where are their souls
in the meantime?) Either way... those who did the evil deeds will be resurrected to "judgment". They will be brought to life, simply so they can be judged.

2 Cor 5:10; For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Yes, we will be rewarded for the good deeds we have done. But don't forget, we will also be "rewarded" for the bad deeds also. In other words
you'll get what you deserve depending which group you are in.

Rom 14:10; But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

Christians will be judged also. It mentions this is a couple places, but one of the things they will be judged for is their works.

1 Cor 3:14; If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward.
1 Cor 3:15; If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

Now some people like the part where it says "he himself will be saved", they tend to leave out the part about "yet so as through fire" part.
Here are some other translations.

(AMPC) But if any person's work is burned up [under the test], he will suffer the loss [of it all, losing his reward], though he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has passed] through fire. [Job 23:10]
(ASV) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire.
(CSB) If anyone’s work is burned up, he will experience loss, but he himself will be saved—but only as through fire.
(ESV) If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.
(GNB) But if your work is burnt up, then you will lose it; but you yourself will be saved, as if you had escaped through the fire.
(GW) If his work is burned up, he will suffer the loss. However, he will be saved, though it will be like going through a fire.
(HCSB) If anyone's work is burned up, it will be lost, but he will be saved; yet it will be like an escape through fire.
(KJV) If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
(MKJV) If anyone's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
(MSG) if it doesn't, your part of the building will be torn out and started over. But you won't be torn out; you'll survive—but just barely.
(NAS77) If any man's work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as through fire.
(NASB) If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
(NIrV) If the building burns up, the builder will lose everything. The builder will be saved, but only like one escaping through the flames.
(NIV) If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

You might be saved, but that doesn't mean you're not going to get burned.
In fact some Armenians have the point of view, you will be saved... "so you can burn". I'm not sure this is the case, but even so...
the people that don't have any works to show... will still get a little bit singed (severe sun-burn).

A lot of people like to quote Ephesians 2:8-9; but they like to leave off verse 10.

Eph 2:8; For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Eph 2:9; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10; For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

Matt 25:30; "Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Luke 19:22; "He *said to him, 'By your own words I will judge you, you worthless slave. Did you know that I am an exacting man, taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow?
Luke 13:9; and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.'"

Also what some people don't know... it that we ourselves will judge others in heaven. Believe it or not.
Jesus told His disciples...

Matt 19:27; Then Peter said to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?"
Matt 19:28; And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Matt 19:29; "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.

Luke 22:28; "You are those who have stood by Me in My trials;
Luke 22:29; and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you
Luke 22:30; that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Paul tells the Gentiles at Corinth....

1 Cor 6:2; Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?

Rev 20:4; Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

This is very bad news for those who refuse to repent.

Rom 2:5; But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

Now some Christians think because they are in God's kingdom, they won't have to face the judgment, but the Bible says...

1 Pet 4:17; For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Even angels will face the judgment.

2 Pet 2:4; For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;

But Jesus came to save man-kind, not angel-kind, what hope do they have?

Jude 1:6; And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
