I'm pretty sure about Him. But how do you guys define the true Holy Spirit? Do you believe you have received (for He is not a person you can "catch" like a cold) when you speak with heavenly tongues. When your life is completely changed? Thanks for your HELP!

Let's look at some important verses about the Holy Spirit:

John 14:16

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

This is about the Holy Spirit. He is our comforter and witness of Christ abiding in us.

John 7:37-39

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

This Scripture shows that in order to receive the Holy Spirit, we must accept and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We must believe who He is in faith.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

The Holy Spirit is the guarantee [sealed] of our Salvation in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 4:30

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption

We require to be obedient to GOD so that the Holy Spirit can work fully in His power. GOD does not force Himself upon us but does expect us to submit fully to Him so that His Spirit can do His works without 'grieving' Him.

Romans 8:9

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

We must believe and accept Jesus in order to receive the Spirit of GOD in to abide within us.

Please study these Scripture in regards to the Holy Spirit is and what His function is within the Trinity.

A favorite passage of mine is found in John:7. 37

In that last great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying "If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink"
"He that believeth on me as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water"
"This spake he of the Spirit which they that believe on Him should receive........"

Can you see the scene. The last great day of the feast. All the sacrifice had finished. All the ceremony had ended. All the blood had been shed. Folks had done everything they could. Jesus crys out "If any man thirst.......let him come unto me and drink.

Do you ever feel thirsty brother? Are you satisfied with what men offer?

If you are........I want to inform you that there is more, so much more. Jesus invites you to come and drink..........Not from a pint measure....but from the fountain head.

Read about it..........and drink......Gather around those who are drinking, those who are filled with the Holy Spirit. You will never thirst again

Wow amen Chad. This is just going to help someone else who has been asking questions. Thank you so very much for posting this today. I love to be able to pray in tongues when I do not know what to pray. The Holy Spirit is our great helper and guide.

Good News

The Holy Spirit helps us each day. Words of wisdom come often here at Talk Jesus.

Something I noted that I do myself often, is constantly thank the Holy Spirit for allowing me to see, to listen with my heart and for Him to put words at my fingertips, when needed.

The Holy Spirit is in you. Thank Him for all that He does daily. God asks us to pray ceaselessly. Thanking the individual Foundations of God, (all Three), is a wonderful thing for all of us to do. There are times to thank the Holy Spirit, times to thank our Lord Jesus and times to reach way up and touch our Father, through the love and mediation of His son.

The Holy Spirit, is what drives you to know God more. Have patience and feel his presence even in your questions.

Praise our Glorious God. Amen:)Pixie:love: :rainbow:
