The Heart of A Person Who Knows Jesus

Billy Graham once said that war is never on the heart of a person who knows the Lord. It's true. Jesus is not a warmonger. He does not urge His followers to force Christianiy on anyone; to take up arms to promote Christianity. Jesus is the Prince of Peace, the Lamb who was slain.

Yet, some people look back to the times when misguided zealots tried to forcibly convert people to Christianity. These people point to the Crusades, for instance, and cry, "Look! That's what those Christians are really like!" The Crusades happened hundreds of years ago and Jesus wept as those men spread death and destruction.

Sadly, many so-called Christians today see news reports of violence at home and abroad and automatically spew hatred and condemnation on the perpetrators, ignoring their own sinfulness and setting themselves up as judge and jury. The heart of a person who truly knows Jesus is a loving heart, not a vengeful one.

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you that you may be sons of your Father in heaven." (Mt 5:43-45a)

Dear SpiritLedEd

That is so very true.

The world will respond to Christians whose lives flow with Christ's great love and show it in their daily lifes...a life fragrant with aloes, myrrh and a loving Christlike nature.

It applies even more on a personal level. I always remember my unsaved brother-in-law saying to me on one occasion I can smell an argument brewing Julia so dont let us talk about Jesus. That stabbed at my heart. Now I daily pray that my life will be filled with the love of Jesus and that He will speak through me and minister to lost souls.

..be gentle unto all men... 1 Tim 2:24

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost Rom 5:5

Thank you for this post SpiritLedEd..... it has got me dwelling even more on the love of our dear Lord Jesus

God bless you

Julia

response to The heart which knows Christ

In the simplicity which is in Christ, the true Christian will be for righteousness, and against sin, always and only. They shall never modify righteousness to accommodate sin, for their heart won´t let them, because the Holy Spirit, the influence of heavenly principles will constrain them, so that their conscience shall undergo the sensation of guilt, and shame, at the introduction of any sin. Notwithstanding, they may be introduced to sin unaware, but their heart will be for righteousness. The point is that, they whose heart knows Jesus will no longer willfully, deliberately sin.

I like the concept of knowing Jesus equals no longer deliberately sinning. Evil revolves around closed hearts, and those whom are most vulnerable, let evil in unknowingly.
