Hallelujah! Glory be to GOD!
nowadays we hear a lot of people who tend to be thinking and saying God is only Love, and only Love and that is about it... all they would want to know about God... that's it.
And Hallelujah Glory be to GOD, AMEN! GOD is LOVE AMEN! It is what the Bible says! But...
Remember now that God is not only limited to Love, as He is much more then Love.
God is Love + Many other Great Attributes!
And sadly most today's modern false feel good easy listening no cross bearing and denial of self: health wealth and prosperity false gospel has people tend to forget that God is so much more then only Love and tend to forget about His Holiness and Righteousness and Justice too, not to forget that HE IS THE CHAMPION over all. And sadly by all these false preaching and worldly distractions and multitude of error send in our way people tend to forget about the standard of utter Holiness of GOD and limit their own understanding of who GOD really is, as God Has many more Attributes in His Character and remember: GOD does not change.
Malachi 3
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
God is not like us that He changes like now and tomorrow and yesterday we as humans tend to change our thoughts and our patterns with opinions. We think we are wise and say boldly today we are in the modern age in the year of 2012 some speak in ignorance and say that the Word of God must be changed to fit nowadays "modern standard way of living" and therefore needs to be put in right "modern perspective" to be fully understood or to be followed after today's standards..? so called: "modern standard", but that is not so:
God is not like that...
Malachi 3
6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Psalm 119
89 For ever, O LORD, thy Word is settled in heaven.
Psalm 102
27 But Thou art the Same, and Thy years shall have no end.
Numbers 23
19 God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
Hallelujah! AMEN
God is Always the Same!
Now let us look at another side that is not so commonly preached about, perhaps. To get a bit clearer understanding of who our GOD really is:
Numbers 25
1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
Now nowadays we tend to think that this not of The LORD, because it has no love in it..... perhaps you think God would punish or correct this man who took the javelin in his hand and thrust it into their belly's who is called: Phinehas as he did a cold blooded murder right? That would be not so loving as you might think in todays love love love only love gospel. This surely cannot be accepted by GOD because it is not an act God would accept right? A GOD who is LOVE as most people think about GOD is LOVE and amen He is! But let us read on what happened afterwards with this man Phinehas: it might not be what you think....
10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned My wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for My sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in My jealousy.
12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him My covenant of peace:
13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
14 Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.
15 And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.
16 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them:
18 For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.
You might think that God somehow would have punished Phinehas for his behaviour with the javelin which he took in his hands and thrusted through both of their belly's to kill both of them, but instead God Rewarded Phinehas and God was very well pleased with Phinehas, He even Gave him His covenant of Peace because he was zealous for his GOD and made an atonement for the children of Israel.
We can learn about the things that happened in the OT
Romans 15
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Now this is another look at The LOVE of GOD, Thank You LORD!
