Hi, I have been thinking about what it means when in the word it reads about floods of waters. I know water often means God's word.
But here is a small list of verses where it speaks about this particular type of waters and how they "cover" or come not "nigh" (near?):

(Job 38:34) Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?

(Job 22:11) Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.

(Psa 32:6) For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

(2Pe 3:6) Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

(Rev 12:15) And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

The phrase "abundance of waters", like the word "darkness", is often used to denote distress and trouble. The former is used in Isaiah 8:7-8 to symbolize a powerful invading army, and again in 28:17-19.
