"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my Words, hath one that judgeth him, the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak.

And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak, therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak." John 12:48-50.

When Peter trusted in his own understanding, he attempted to counsel Jesus, that He didn't need to die upon the cross. Jesus looked at him and said, "Get thee behind me, Satan...!" Mt 16:21-26.

When James and John wanted to follow the example of Elijah (denominational precedent?) and call fire down from heaven upon the Samaritans, Jesus said to them, "Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of!" Lu 9:54,55.

When Judas followed his heart, Satan filled it and he betrayed the Lord. Lu 22:3.

These four disciples were with Jesus, 24/7, yet, when they trusted in their own opinions, became tools of Satan, who was attempting to thwart God's plan of salvation.

So, with all due respect, who do we think we are with our various denominational traditions and opinions?

Every doctrine should be studied Genesis-Revelation, before it is taught, but, this is not done. We need to revere God's holy Word.

Jesus spoke, only, the Words, that, the Father gave Him to speak. "He that saith he abideth in Him, ought himself so to walk, even as He walked." 1 John 2:6.

We will, each one, answer to our Lord Jesus Christ for how we lived and presented His "God Breathed" Word to mankind. 2 Tim 3:16.

There is, only, one authority - His "God Breathed" Word.

I think that God allows denominations to exist because He wants us to use our brains to discover the basic truth of the Gospel. It seems to me that this body of truth is clearly shown in Romans 10, 1 Corinthians 15, and Galatians 1., and most simply stated in John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in (follows) Him, shall not die, but shall have eternal life."

All Christian denominations agree on John 3:16, do they not? Its unavoidable that there would be other points upon which we disagree but we are together on this central teaching, are we not?. As someone once said, "Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one." However, as long as we continue to learn and to grow as Christians, we can prayerfully work our way through our differences as we focus on the simplicity of the Gospel message.

I have SkyAngel and listen to teachers from different denominations. Each one has strengths and weaknesses.

From what I have observed, the biggest errors come from incomplete study of the Scripture.

This comes from a lack of reverence for God's holy Word.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth." 2 Tim 2:15.

The Bereans: "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with all readiness of mind, searching the Scriptures, daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11.

Jn.17:20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
The church hasn't quite recieved the fullness of Christ here yet. Jesus prayed that His Church would have the same expression of unity as God has Himself - three and yet one. For this purpose, Jesus is even now interceding for us (Rom.8:34)
"I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought" (1 Corinthians 1:10)
"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 15:5-6).

I celebrate these Christian forums, because, Christians from differing denominations, and from all over the world are coming together to study God's Word.

Our unity is because of the doctrine of Christ. We all have errors in theology, but, we cannot be wrong on the doctrine of Jesus Christ.

I am working on a post, declaring the names of Jesus, because I am finding His deity challenged in some Christian forums.
