May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom
So I have an interesting story to tell and pondering the solution.
My wife and I were traveling south on a road that has no stop signs or red lights until you get to the next town. A man not from the area thought he was coming to a four-way stop sign intersection and decided to run the stop sign even though he saw us coming at the speed limit.
So he ran the stop sign in front of us and my wife and I plowed into him with a pickup truck.
That happened on July 13th, just a couple weeks ago. My wife is experiencing some pain in the chest hand dislocated with broken wrist which has been repaired with a plate and he has a broken toe in each foot. I am presently in a Rehabilitation Center learning how to walk again with a broken bone in my hip socket and a minor fracture in my scapula. Yes it hurts.
But this is the dilemma that comes to me, all the insurance is taken care of all the medical issues and they're going to pay me about 85% of my wages from the time of the accident onward which is actually more than what I take home after taxes.
I've had numerous people come to me telling me to get a lawyer to sue the heck out of the other guy, I've never been one for suing anyone. And I don't feel comfortable pursuing that.
If I had been working. I would get the same amount of money. But I just don't see suing anyone because accidents happen. And if the insurance is covering everything including my lost wages, including replacing the vehicle. Why pursue a lawyer?
If I do get a lawyer, my only reason for having one is for advice. I have no interest of collecting tons of money from someone that ran a stop sign and admitted to it.
I want to add, that my wife and I are alive and it's a miracle if you saw the two vehicles you would be amazed that we both pretty well walked away from it. Neither of our airbags deployed. We have a 2013 Chevy Silverado that's a four-door, I don't know why the airbags didn't deploy. However if they had deployed, my wife may have been killed. As she has severe asthma and the dust inside of them that feels them may have caused her death. So you got to look at all those things too
The other driver walked away also. I heard he had some broken bones in his ribs as well as a lot of bruising going on but his airbag did deploy.
I'm thankful to God that everyone's alive.
