"I am the Alpha and the Omega, [the] Beginning and [the] End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8 NKJV
When you think about it, celebrating the birthday of the eternal God is a little silly. God exists outside of time. He has always been. He always is. He always will be. He is the beginning and end of all creation, the sustainer of existence, and the One to who all creation will bow down for eternity. Does it make sense to celebrate the birthday of One who has always been?
Actually, it is because of His eternal nature that the birth of Jesus Christ is doubly worth celebrating. Because of the love God has for us, He entered into the world as a frail human baby. The all-powerful God humbled Himself and submitted to the rules He made for us, becoming the only sacrifice His holy nature could accept.
We celebrate the birth of Christ because it shows us the lengths God’s love is willing to go for the world He created. We celebrate because He has extended His holiness to us, making it possible for us to be with Him eternally. Today, give thanks that the eternal God was willing to be born so you could be born again into His eternal love.
Prayer: Jesus, Happy Birthday!!! Thank You for sharing Your holiness with me so I can be with You forever.
