(KJV)Genesis 5:24
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Today let us just talk about how we are hampered from this "Walking With God."
1) Walking with God; If there be any part of a man whether saved or lost there is division between that man and the Lord.Surely this we can see in the many around us who are lost. The bible says in (KJV)Romans 8:7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. And to the saved also, for that part that is not renewed surely we can see that God must not like that which remains, especially I would think of a sin that repeats itself and is justified on a daily, if not hourly bases,( lieing, cheating, cursing,SMOKING).
You know the bible shows us a great example with Adam. Look how he first hides from God in the trees, (Ge 3:8). The first heart condition in mans history. And truly this is the problem area for all men, their hearts. After Adam sinned and heard Gods voice, the sound of authority to each man's heart,he didn't want to walk with God cause he was afraid. As you read on you'll see that this heart condition goes from a child being afraid to down right denial and zero accountability for ones action (Ge 3:12).
You know we're the same way today. When we sin we become afraid, we run and hide, (like you can really hide from God), we ignore or grieve the convictions of the Holy Ghost and sometimes before true repentence happens, we want to justify our sins, or shift the blame to someone else. We blame our circumstances and some are so consumed with fear that they will kill for their alibi.
It's amazing how some people are (like me), they want forgiveness with no consequence.
I have found that consequence is a big jug to drink from. It's a humbling drink. One that effects the Christian in such a way as to make him grow closer to God. Accountability of a man's heart is always found in a man that is "Walking with God".
All men whether saved or lost will come to realize that there is some type of division between them and God.
The saved man wars with the flesh and must understand that only through confession and repentence can a closer walk with God be reastablished.
The only way for the lost is Jesus Christ. This division is gaped for both by Jesus Christ, his blood and the cross.
There needs to be created in us a clean heart and a renewed spirit; (KJV)Psalm 51:10
We must strive to love the things God loves and hate what He hates;
(KJV)Psalm 97:10 and 1 John 4:11
Let us purpose in our hearts to be holy; (KJV)1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Let me ask you this question. If you were God would you want to walk with you? Would you ride to work with a person like yourself? Would you work for a person like you?
I'm glade that the God I serve is merciful and kind. That He's always interested in me. He's never to beasy to here me laugh or dry my eyes, that He's been concerned about me in such away that He was moved from His heart to give His only begotten son for me. That He loves me so much to chastise me that in my brokenous I would run to His loving arms in order that my days might be filled with the pleasure of "Walking With God".
Something to think about.
