O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments" (18, or "listened intently," i.e. with intention). How we hear the Lord is vital. As I, we meditate on this today, I'll check my motive for listening, and I'll thank Him for His desire to be heard and the blessings that follow in the verse.
