I cry in the night for time not to pass,
But I wish for more from the hour glass,
A single wish bestowed to me,
To sleep beside my destiny.
I awaken alone and cold in my room,
The darkness around me fills me with gloom,
The hour is early and my mind filled with pain,
Knowing I may never see her again.
A spark led to fire and comfort's delight,
As we shared a dinner into the night,
She went her way and I went my own,
And now we sleep together alone.
She in her house and I in my own,
Wanting of comfort but feeling alone,
I pick up the phone as it starts to ring,
Her voice in my ear starts my heart to sing.
She couldn't sleep as thoughts in her head,
Made her awaken with feelings of dread,
Her dreams were so vivid and lonely and thus,
Comfort to each found in him, Jesus.
We hung up the phone with a smile in our heart,
Knowing that through Him we would never part,
The hour grew nearer and light did give way,
To her beautiful vows on our wedding day.
God bless everyone.
