Not only did the LORD keep his promise of "the new covenant" to Israel and Judah (Jer. 31: 31-34) but he also clearly amended it to include "all peoples" or Gentiles when the time came. (Luke 2: 28-32)
Had we faithfully obeyed the strict terms of "the new covenant", our testimonies would have matched the Apostles' (2 Cor. 3: 1-15) without the need for canonizing any one of the Books of the New Testament beyond their historical value.
That is why Christianity is in a mess and getting worse.
I see. So in your opinion, the entire New Testament is unnecessary.
I am curious as to how Christians would know how Jesus was born, how he died.
What he did while "he was dead". Who our high-priest is. Who mediator between God and man is.
Who our sacrifice for sins is. Who the Word is/was. That Jesus was the son of God/God himself.
All through the old testament, a Messiah was prophesied to come. He did come.
But without the New Testament, how would we know that?
It seems many are trying to take Jesus out of the picture these days.
There is a large church, they call themselves "Christians".
Yet they usually don't pray to him. They pray to someone else more often. They even "hail" (praise) this person.
They have statues on this person in their yards, not Jesus.
They have stickers of this person on their cars, not Jesus.
They rarely name their churches after him. Usually they name them after the apostles, or Mary or various other saints, many of whom aren't in the Bible.
Jesus isn't the head of their church, a man in a large white hat is.
Jesus isn't their (only) priest, they have earthly priests.
They don't consider Jesus the only replacement/proxy/substitute/vicar for our sins.
They don't consider Jesus the only mediator between God and man.
They don't emphasize a personal relationship with Jesus, they emphasize rituals and traditions.
They believe Jesus isn't the only sinless human, they believe there was another who broke the curse of sin before (without) him.
You have to wonder why some people call themselves
CHRISTians. It seems they are doing their best to remove Christ.
Jesus said HE was the new covenant. (Luke 22:20; and 1Cor 11:25; Heb 9:15; Heb 12:24; Heb 8:6-8)
Christianity may "be a mess". But thousands are getting saved every day. There are more Christians in the world right now than at any other time in history.
We don't all agree on everything, but we agree on who Jesus is. He is the new covenant.
