The Birth of Jesus

Hi there fallen!! I wanted to share some scripture in regards to your question. For me, personally, I hope to live every day with the remembrance of the birth, life, death, and resurrection of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ. Whether Jesus birth is recognized one day a year, or every day, isn't it all to the glory of God?

In my opinion fallen, no, it doesn't matter what day he was born, but that he was born, and lived, and died, and rose again. In doing so Jesus finished what no one else could. (John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.) Now He holds the keys of hell and death.

God bless!

Romans
Chapter 14
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. 5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way. 14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of: 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Love your avatar brother! For it really speaks to the truth.

We concern that He was born of the flesh is for the fulfillment of prophecy as foretold those many years prior to His birth.

Should we who know that the Son of God who is eternal born in the flesh at birth as Jesus, be concerned on a specific date?The actually date? Not so much.

Our joy is in the ability to teach His birth and the impact it would have by His entering into the world in the flesh. Far from His starting point of existence, but rather the start of our own story in Him of a new beginning, a life that would culminate at Calvary and a laying to rest in a tomb. The result being of a Resurrection. A Resurrection of the Son of Man whose beginnings were of a child wrapped in swaddling clothes! God's tapestry is truly amazing as it unfolds in the seeing and telling!!

I do appreciate the question brother Fallen especially in a time that the world with its decorations and trappings are telling less about the proclamation of such a Majestic Birth and its significance!!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

I've heard it taught before that Jesus was actually born in and around what would be September using our calendar. The justification for it has to do with the office that Zacharias held in Luke 1 and how long they actually served for. It was a custom that they served for a certain amount of time. Apparently you can get a general idea of the time frame by doing the math. It's just something interesting to think about. I would agree with the others in that it's about taking the time to remember, but if there is some significance to the actual time frame, we might be able to learn more about Jesus by knowing more about when He was actually born.

Without regard to the exact date of his birth, should we not be concerned that so many celebrate a day with no regard as to why someone felt it was a good thing to set aside a date for celebration? People, too many of them, are glad to take hold of any reason to do what pleases them giving little or even no thought as to what pleases God.

"And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them." Luke 2:20

The other thing to keep in mind, there were only ten months at that time.

Sept = 7
Oct = 8
Nov = 9
Dec = 10

Julius Caesar, and Augustus Caesar added July and August.
