If you look next to any of my posts, you will se a Bible. I chose that as my avatar/icon here on TalkJesus about 17 years ago.
Why? Why the Bible?
I like things to be black and white. I like things to be written down. Where I work, we always have a paper trail. If it wasn't in email,
or some document, you can't hold me accountable for it. Whatever was said by the coffee machine was just talk. I may have forgotten about
it five minutes after we talked about it. But if it's written down... well now I have no excuses.
The Bible is the Word if God. Do you believe that? Either you do or you don't. Yes it was written by men, who were guided by God in what to write down.
Every few years, it seems there is a movement to discredit the Bible. You often hear people say, it's wrong, it's corrupted, your translation is wrong,
it has the wrong books in it... some that aren't supposed to be there were added, some that are supposed to be there were removed.
My God is bigger than that.
Job 38:4-7
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding... When the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
Psalm 147:4-5
“He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.”
Isaiah 40:26
“Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.”
My God is all powerful. He knows how many stars are in the universe. He knows the names of them. He created them. He created the exact amount He desired. Not too few, not too many.
Job 12:15
“Behold, if He restrains the waters, they dry up; And if He sends them out, they inundate the earth.”
Psalm 104:10-13
“He sends forth springs in the valleys; They flow between the mountains... He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.”
Proverbs 21:1
“The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He wishes.”
My God controls the weather. He controls the the tide and the flow of the rivers.
Isaiah 46:9-10
“Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, ‘My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure.’”
Daniel 4:35
“All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’”
Romans 8:28
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
My God is all powerful, all knowing. There is not a river that He does not control the course of.
Job 28:10-11
“He hews out channels through the rocks, And his eye sees anything precious. He dams up the streams from flowing, And what is hidden he brings out to the light.”
Job 38:31-33
“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, Or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?”
Amos 5:8
“He who made the Pleiades and Orion And changes deep darkness into morning, Who also darkens day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the surface of the earth, The Lord is His name.”
The point here is... If God knows the number of hairs on you head, if He knows the names of all the stars, if He controls peoples hearts, if He control which direction the rivers flow.... Then certainly He is powerful enough to control what goes into the Bible.
Nothing is there He doesn't want to be there, and everything is there, that He does want to be there.
My God is in control of His Word.
Either you believe this,... or you don't. It really is that simple. Jesus "is" the Word of God.
John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14
“And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
➤ This verse makes it unmistakable that “the Word” refers to Jesus.
Revelation 19:13
“He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.”
➤ This is a vision of Jesus returning in glory, clearly named “The Word of God.”
To say the Bible is incomplete, is really saying that Jesus is incomplete.

2 Timothy 3:16 (NASB95)
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;”
