By Reinhard Bonnke.....50 years Evegelism in Africa
There are plenty of Bible critics but they have not produced any book that can hold a candle to the Bible’s ability to handle the imponderable mysteries of life, and to bring us liberty and salvation. The books that they write are too clever by half.
The Bible is the only book that unveils the face of God and allows us to see how God has revealed himself gradually over time as mankind was able to take it – “rule on rule; a little here, a little there” (Isaiah 28:10).
We are now in the end times, when “knowledge shall increase”, as the angel told Daniel (Daniel 12:4 NKJV). Bible understanding has
advanced tremendously over the last 50 years and the Word continues to shed new light daily.
Yet one thing has not changed at all: that the Bible is the great and only answer to life’s questions. There simply is no other.
Scripture is God-inspired to express God’s concerns. What concerns him should concern us.
The world is a continuous swirl of human events, thoughts and reactions that God has been watching for thousands of years. “The Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes the son of men; his eyes examine them” (Psalm 11:4). We may be unaware of God’s fatherly gaze
but the Holy Spirit knows people and life’s intricacies and how to touch the secret springs of human hearts – perhaps from oblique and surprising angles.
To preach effectively, we must stand on the platform of the Word. Our divine instructions, like Timothy’s, are to “preach the Word” (2 Timothy 4:2) – not a collection of commentaries on it!
