Thank You Forgive Me

Thank you Lord for making your word become flesh
And being born in a barn even though no one had room
If that wasn't enough then we hung you on tree to die

Forgive me Lord for not giving thanks for the storm you put me in
All I saw was the crashing waves with thunder and lighting in the sky
Instead of thank you for being there with me I took your name in vain

Thank you Lord for becoming truth so you could set us free
Instead of being persecuted we became the persecutor on you
But then not only did you forgive but came out of the grave

Forgive me Lord for not giving thanks for the spit and the mud
That you put in my eyes so that I may see your grace and mercy
Instead I let my heart go blind and I slapped your helping hand away

Thank you Lord for guiding me to still waters and quite pastures
Instead of traveling on a dark path you became a light for my feet
If that wasn't enough you became my sword and my shield

Forgive me Lord for not wanting to stop along this path before me
Was selfish of me not wanting to be a good Samaritan for the fallen
If that wasn't enough I dragged your love on by without saying hello

Thank you Lord for forgiving me even when I let worry turn to stress
Instead of turning to you I give into frustration which spills into anger
Before you know it my old self is returning and I crucify you again

Thank You Forgive me Lord this time I mean it revive me make me new
I place all my trust and faith in you, this time I take your hand not letting go
But if I do slip again please catch me so I dont fall and crucify you again
