I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings And shall not be ashamed. For I shall delight in Your commandments, Which I love. Psalm 119:46-47 AMP
The author of this psalm was fully prepared to testify for the Lord in front of kings without feeling shame. He did so because he delighted himself in God’s commandments, which he loved. He didn’t live a perfect life. In fact, he had several great failings. But he found his way again by delighting in and holding fast to truth, and it empowered him to act accordingly.
Are you experiencing spiritual defeat, unable to get past your failures? Maybe you feel like Satan has picked you out and placed you on the shelf, rendering you useless for the kingdom. Or maybe you’ve just allowed yourself to become so busy that you’ve neglected the Word and therefore haven’t witnessed to anybody for months or years.
If any of these are true, immerse yourself in the Word, delight in it, and you’ll find spiritual power from on high. That power will give you the courage you need to stand for truth in this wicked and perverse generation.
Prayer: Lord, I don’t know why I continually falter when life becomes difficult. I earnestly desire to witness for You. Yet I allow the cares of this world to choke the spiritual life out of me. Forgive me, Lord. Renew and restore me.
