Well it's me again. Me and a friend were talking about starting a Bible Study for teenagers (roughly ages 15-18). We were not sure however where to start, or how much to read each time. We do not want to overdue it, but we do want to read the Bible. So we think we need to find a happy medium .

I was thinking roughly 4-5 Chapters a week. I think I would encourage everyone to take notes, and highlight any of their favorite passages, or ones they didn't understand. I figure we would want to start pretty simple, (which I know is hard to do, sense the Bible is not "simple".). But I hope you guys know what I mean by "simple", easier to understand parts of The Bible.

I was hoping also not to start out with any "familiar stories". Like when Jesus turns water into wine. I want to make the first meeting something fresh and new, not a review.

Any ideas on where to start, how to do it, or just any comments are much appreciated.

Hey Landon!

See if your school has a Frist Priority program. It's actually a bible study set up in a lot of schools.

I think once a week for an hour should be effecient. I have a youth group and that's how long and how frequent ours is.

I'll try to help you as much as I can- just PM me.

God Bless

When I started studying the Bible thoroughly I started at Romans and went to Philemon. These books are to the Church Age(us) and explain sin, salvation, church order and lots of other important subjects. But, just go to where ever the Lord leads you in His Word. Also make sure to understand every word and use dictionaries. It's good to read slow because I believe you will be able to understand and get more out of it when you read slower, but that might just be me.

2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." KJV

Thanks guys, Romans sounds like a very good idea. I think understanding sin and salvation is a very good place to start. I think reading Romans will help me better understand the rest of the Bible. Cheers for the idea Cody! And thanks for the site Chad, a site especially for youth, should be great.

God bless,
