suffering chidren

i have been very worried for a few days. i would like some bible help pls. i am trying to get more understanding so that i might find God again i have not led a good life for along time. I find some things so hard to understand and i get very upset specially cos of illness.

i have a friend Amanda (who doesnt beleieve in God) who is pregnant and there is lots of problems, she might need surgery and the baby is at risk.
I also know julia (who does beleieve in God)whos on this forum and her daughter is very sick.
i dont understand why children get sick. I asked in chat and people in there said it is because of parents sins and the fault of the mams and dads.
then there is all the sick chidren in Africa and other countries
i have had a few helpfull answers and messages but i would like to understand more pls. will parents sins stop children and babys getting better?

that is a very nice reply and thx for saying a prayer. who are the saints you talk about are they the chidren/babys
i still dont understand if parents sins make children sick.

When Jesus was confronted with the question of parents sins, this is what happened...

As Jesus went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

"Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Having said this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. "Go," he told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

I spent a fair bit of last night comforting my sick daughter. She's not seriously ill, but it's still distressing.

Our sinful world is broken and hurting. Sickness and sorrow touch every one of us. I love the little story above, especially the way Jesus moves so quickly from a rather judgemental abstract question about suffering and sin to demonstrating God's healing, hope and life-giving power.

My friend we are all living on a cursed earth and because of that we see sickness and death. It is simply the result of sin and all of creation awaits redemption from this corruption.
When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior we are spiritually made redeemed and set free and yet our bodies still age and die. That will change when the Lord Himself consumes the old and restores the heavens and the earth.
There is nothing harder than seeing a child suffer. Our Lord puts us here to love, help, encourage, pray for and minister to them and their families that they may come to know His love in spite of adverse circumstance.
His love is the greatest gift of all and our bodies last but a few moments in the grand scheme of things. It is where we spend our eternity that is most important.
Pray and God can and will use you for His glory. The very fact you are there nearby to that circumstance is not an accident.
I am praying for you, your friends and their precious children.
