For the Christian, there is nothing that is hidden...that doesn't need to be for a specific reason and that we therefore don't need to go looking for it!
First the natural then the spiritual. This can be applied here.

Look at the words, the setting, the circumstances & think how it applies to you, others & Church or group.

Act on what is therefore 'Revealed' to you.

Avoid studies of your own that take your fancy, that give you an adrenaline rush or seem to be ''New'' revelations. Especially if your doing it by your self. ???

These can well be ''Red''herrings that take your eye of the goal set before you. Christ Jesus. :omg:
Can you answer this question, in who am I 'really worshiping' in doing this study.

I don't believe that the Christian (or Non-Christian life for that matter!) should be bound by trying to find / looking for 'hidden' answers either in the Bible or in life in general. I don't believe the basic Christian message of salvation is that complicated - and more importantly that God intended to any basic message / code of salvation etc and of Jesus and the Bible deeper in the words. For one thing, what would be the point - since a message such as this of grace, love and mercy doesn't show much of those things if parts of it are hidden and concealed in a complex way?! Surely time could be better spent studying what is more obvious.

What do others think?:shade:

I also think if you look hard enough for long enough, you can start to 'see' almost anything in anything - which I think can move one into dangerous territory!

I praise God that enough has been revealed already :-)

Yes, I agree - the Bible itself, inspired by the Holy Spirit, states that it is written so as to be sufficient for us to read and understand it.

This doesn't preclude the necessity of studying God's Word in greater detail. For instance, all the types of Christ prophecied throughout the early part of the Old Testament I never saw until I studied these books in more detail and with other brothers and sisters from my church.

However, the Bible also says that the secret things are for God (I wish I had the cite for this handy - sorry), which means that we are not meant to know all truth, but only that which God has revealed to us through his Word, through His Son Jesus, and through creation. Even in heaven with our Father, we will be continually learning of Him, for he is infinite.
Deuteronomy 29.29 is the verse

I completely agree that individual worship and Bible study without corporate study/worship with other believers can lead us into error - we are sinful and depraved, and so prone to error, so this is definitely a dangerous road to take.

The Holy Spirit reveals to us the meaning of the Word we read. However, the Spirit reveals only what we are ready for as we are ready for it.

We trust and read the Word in obedience and the Spirit enlightens us as we are ready to receive.
