But Saul increased all the more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus was the Christ. Acts 9:22 ESV

You’ve probably heard cynics say that people cannot change. Once a liar, always a liar. Once an adulterer, always an adulterer. And once a killer, always a killer. But Christ can change even the most hardened killer into a Gospel proclaimer, as we see in today’s verse.

Following Saul’s dramatic conversion, he spent some time with the believers in Damascus, where his faith was strengthened. Immediately after that, he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues. This was the same man who had made a habit out of persecuting and even killing Christians. But the Holy Spirit had done a work in him, giving him a rock-solid resolve to tell others about the soul-saving message of Christ. Naturally, some of the disciples were afraid of him at first. But once they learned about how boldly he was already living out his faith, they embraced him.

If Saul, who was also called Paul (Acts 13:9), could trust God with such resolution in his conviction to share Jesus with others, then any believer can. As you go into your workplace or classroom today, don’t hesitate to stand firm for Jesus. Tell others that anybody can be saved from their sins.

Prayer: Father, give me the resolve of Saul today. Help me not to waver when You present opportunities to share the Gospel.

Such a fine point Brother!!! Some of us know just how powerful Holy Spirit has been and is continuing to be in our lives! When all seemed lost, when nobody was around to help, and even worse when you find out nobody cares about you, Holy Spirit fills that large empty space in our souls, and somehow, some way, he makes a way for us to move forward and reminds us of God's Word over our feeling!

(1 Cor 10:13-15) I found verse 14 most intersting that life is not all about me!! Therefore, keep your mind upon (Phil 4:7-9) rather than our feeling and circumstances. It is not an easy lesson, but well worth fighting for in our Lord! Thanks so much for that reminder, Nick!!!
