Spoken Words Shows Who You Are

Jesus Said; There is nothing that enters
a man from outside which can defile
him; but the things which come out of
him, those are the things that defile a
man. ( Mark 7:15 *NKJV )

As Christians we must be careful of the words we speak,
and keep them soft and sweet, because sometimes we can
defile ourselves with our words. For if we are not careful;
Out of the same mouth proceed blessing
and cursing. My brethren, these things
ought not to be so. ( James 3:10 )
Therefore; Let your speech always be
with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer each
one. ( Colossians 4:6 )

So speak only words of kindness,
and; speak evil of no one, to be
peaceable, gentle, showing all humility
to all men. ( Titus 3:2 )

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having
compassion for one another; love as
brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
not returning evil for evil or reviling for
reviling, but on the contrary blessing,
knowing that you were called to this,
that you may inherit a blessing. Amen.
( 1 Peter 3:8-9 )

All My Love & Prayers,
Pastor Allen

I believe that is very true, shortlady, and the Scripture verses very appropriate.

We must always strive to "build up" with our words. The world's way is to "tear down", to curse the one who slights you, and words harshly said can cut deep. Yet as Christ's ambassadors on earth, we are called to be humble and gentle, and "let our gentleness be known to all men". (Can someone give the reference for this?)

Mark.

Amen SL!

Luk 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Let your speech always be
with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer each
one.
Grace... seasoned with salt... something only the Holy Spirit
could teach and enable one to do.

"Out of the heart.....the mouth speaks" Mtt 12 - 34

I recall an incident when as a young man in my twenties, I was pioneering a new fellowship in a village roughly 10 miles from my family home. People were attending the services and folks were coming to Jesus. Hallelujah. Halcyon days

A man approached me one evening confessing that he enjoyed having a pint of Yorkshire bitter, in the evenings. And he asked me if this was in order now that he was coming along to the Gospel services and felt a need to do so, enjoying being here.

At that time in my life I had no idea how/what Yorkshire Bitter tasted, but was aware that it was the County alchoholic drink.

I spoke from the heart as I responded to his question saying.......It is not what goes into the mouth that defileth.......but what comes out.....Mk 7 v 18

Looking back I spoke with compassion and care.

Today that family remain in the church which I started in the 60s. The dear old father has gone on to be with Jesus, but a daughter now in her 90s remains with children and grandchildren.

A new building is being built even as I write. The Pastor and family are blessed .....in Jesus

So yes......Spoken words do show who we are........I pray that I will continue to speak with compassion and care.......such as builds His Church
