Spiritually Drained?

Well all get this way, that is, spiritually drained. But what should we do when this happens? I know keep your faith in the Lord and such, but it feels like, well, you all know what it feels like. Any help would be great

I think its important to get both physical rest and even fasting. A one on one with the Lord Jesus to gain spiritual refreshment, mind rejuvenation and of course to hear the Holy Spirit telling us what the news is for that day generally speaking. To keep in touch with GOD and to remind ourselves of our priorities. As we mature in Christ, we should learn to avoid the things that drain us. I know its easier said than done, but I would assume its expected from years of maturity and experience.

I also am wondering what to do in this situation.

Fasting you say?

I have wanted to this for a long time. Hard because I am hypoglycemic...plus I have 3 kids I have to feed 3 times a day..

Would it be still fasting if I only fasted 1 meal a day or just decided to omit certain things from my daily life while on the fast?

I am still strong in my faith, but I have become...well...dormant I guess you could call it.

I am not motivated to get up early on Sunday to get to church, even though I love my church! I am not motivated to pray or to read my Bible.

I get like this every so often, usually it lasts only a short while...but I am finding it is happen more often lately and the time between "dormant periods" is lessening every time.

HELP!

i think the one of the main points about fasting it the sacrifice. Also another main point of it is to concentrate on God. So i guess you could miss one meal and while you are hungry just keep praying to him and such. But Thanks a bunch for that helpfull info Chad. And instead of fasting, you could give up your morning coffe or something else lilke that. Making sacrifices is very important to strengthen your relationship with Him.

The fasting of food is great for our body, mind, and soul.
For special medical concerns, I'd ask a doctor.

There are so many other things that we can and should fast of too.
Like the TV and radio, even Christian programming. Just take a break and listen to the quiet we've missed. Take the time to read and pray.
The fasting of money is good too. Go for as long as you can without spending on anything and when you do break it, buy only food and bare essentials the first day.

I feel the fasting of anything brings appreciation for more than just what was fasted from. A gratefulness to God for everything comes about in one's life and whatever was a bother previously doesn't seem so important.
