Spiritual Laws
What is a Law? A Law is a set of rules or regulations that governs our behavior.

There are four Spiritual Laws that can be found in scripture that will govern the believer’s behavior, according to which one the Laws the believer is operating in. These Laws are, and I will give them to you from the weakest to the strongest.
The Law of the mind.
The Law of Sin and Death.
This Law is found in Romans 7:21, 23 and is stronger than the Law of the mind.
This is the strongest of all Laws. It is found in Romans 8:2.
This Law is able to break all cycles of sin as long as the believer’s object of faith is the Cross of Christ. To operate in this Law means to maintain our position of “In Christ”. For more information on how to maintain this position of “In Christ,” see my bible study entitled, “Our Position.”
The Government of Heaven operates in this Law. Most Christians are unaware of how to find victory in this Law.
]This Law only operates for the believers that are functioning properly in the Position of “In Christ” see Romans 6:3, and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:State w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Col</st1lace></st1:State> chapter 3.
The Phrases found in the Bible referring to our position that Christ gave us at the Cross are as follows.

All refer to the believers Position in Christ, these Phrases are found over 110 times.

- Now to understand these Laws see the following.
The Law of the mind.
- This Law is found in Romans 7:23 and is the weakest Law of them all. This Law is the believer’s will Power, desires, motivation, intellect, Etc.
- My will power is to Sin no more, see Romans 7:15
- The first reaction the believer will gravitate to is to operate upon his own personal will power in order to gain victory in his or hers spiritual walk. Again, it is our will power that is woefully inadequate. See Romans 7:18.
- When the Law of the mind comes up against the Law of Sin, the Law of Sin always overcomes us. This is the reason for all the ups and downs in the life of the believer. If one begins to operate upon his own will power to obtain victory then one always fails.
- If the Christian does not use what the Lord has provided, which is the Cross of Calvary and learn to walk in total denial of self. Than one can not have the Victory’s Jesus won at the Cross. (This is the Law of the Spirit of Life Romans 8:2 which will bring victory to the believer).
- Most Christian’s make the mistake of believing that when they fail they need to pray more or Fast more to gain the victory over their failure. While prayer and fasting are things the believer is to participate in, one is not to look at that as their source of victory. When the believer would think this way he or she is operating in the law of the mind without knowing it. The Source of victory to look at is and always will be the Cross of Christ.
The Law of Sin and Death.
This Law is found in Romans 7:21, 23 and is stronger than the Law of the mind.
- When the believer operates in a sinful lifestyle this Law will always apprehend them.
- When the believer is operating on his own personal will power and strength, this Law will apprehend them.
- When one has an addiction this Law will always push it further.
- This Law will always be carried out in anyone who walks after the Flesh and not after the Spirit.
- Until the believer learns to look to Christ and the Cross for his victory this Law will apprehend him. It is the Cross of Christ that the believer is to trust in for everything in his or hers Spiritual walk, and not ones own personal will power.
- The Law of God.
- This Law can be found in Exodus 20, and Romans 7:22, 25 and is stronger than the previous two.
- The Law of God is the Ten Commandments, given to Moses at Mt Sinai
- This Law demands our performance but gives us no assistance.
- When the believer uses these Laws the believer will fail and be apprehended by the Law of Sin.
- God knew we couldn’t keep these Laws; he gave us no ability to keep these Laws. The Law of God was designed to do one thing, and that is to bring us to the knowledge of sin.
This is the strongest of all Laws. It is found in Romans 8:2.

- The help of the Holy Spirit only comes when one is operating properly in this Law.
