Spirit of Faith?

Hello Everyone!

I have a question for someone who is familiar with the spiritual world. If you aren't, please don't answer my question because then it will through me off.

Most of us are familiar with how God has angels and Satan has demons. Well, most of us know that all demons have names like spirit of fear, spirit of rejection, spirit of hate, etc. and the same goes for the angels like spirit of love, spirit of joy, spirit of gentleness, etc.

Well, is there a spirit of faith? The reason I ask is because faith only comes from hearing and hearing the word of God. If this is the case, how could spirit of faith be with someone if they haven't read the word.

More importantly, is faith a spirit?

Dear sister Trulyblezzed,

You've asked a great question. The bible declares in:

Hebrews 11:1: What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.

The bible clearly declares that faith is a belief in God, that He's going to work something (perhaps a miracle, but not just miracles alone) for you. But the bible doesn't say that faith is a spirit.

My mother once described to me about what faith really is. This is what she told me:

"Now if you ask me to cook something for you (or perhaps do any other work for you) and you say that you're going out for some work in the mean time, you know that when you come back that the work will be done. This shows that you believe me. Now if you doubt me, you will definetly call me (by telephone) while your work is being done and ask if I'm really doing the work or not."

In the same way, if we ask God to do something for us and we surrender everything into His hands; if we really have faith in God, then we'll be doing our part (nothing but the acts of faith) and we know that God will do His part.

Besides this, faith is the quality that makes us pleasing in God's sight (without faith it is impossible to please God) and it is by faith that we are made right in God's sight.

Romans 3:28: So we are made right with God through faith.........

God bless you.

Praise the Lord.
