Something which made me very angry

Dear friends,

I would like to tell you an incident which happened at college. It made me very angry, but I didn't show it in my physical expressions.

I was coming out of the Lab. One of my class mate (named Karthik) asked me, "Did you ever drink alcohol or beer in your life?". I told him, "I never tasted alcohol or beer, neither did I put my foot step in a bar".

Then he told me, "Well what is wrong if you drink alcohol? In the last supper Jesus drank alcohol with His disciples." I was boiling with temper when I heard that, but I didn't show it in my expressions. I just told him in a calm manner, "It is not alcohol, it is grape wine.".

Then he said, "Don't tell a lie, I seen it in the Davinci Code.". As I was about to speak another word, he laughed and went away, not giving me a chance to speak something.

What made me even more angry is that, he condemns the bible to the core (He never read the bible), but yet for all he says that the Davinci Code is absolutely right (He read the entire book).

Please pray for him that the Lord will forgive his deeds.

NOTE:

He and his friends, they hate me to the core for no reason. He used to make my life miserable. This is the main reason why I don't like to speak a word to many people in my class, because I know what kind of problems I'll be facing the next minute.

"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ." - Col. 2:8

There's no need for you to debate them.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
Proverbs 23:9

Just remember to pray for them. Its fustrating at times but they are lost.

"He who walks with wise men becomes wise, but the companion of FOOLS will suffer harm." - Prov. 13:20

Joshua 1 v 9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Take it into your heart Ritchie, for courage and strength.
We all go through these times, and they are tuff, but we serve
a God who is able, He will bring us through.

You just keep looking unto Him, the author and finisher of our
faith.
For His arm is mighty to save.
He only needs us to be willing, Pauls writings in the Bible are of
great encouragment, so are the Psalms as David went through
tuff times too.
but God never left him, through it all,
we learn to trust Him, He will deliver them, in His own time.
don't be dismayed or faint, faint but pursue brother.

One thing is for sure, every time you are persecuted like that you should rejoice because a reward awaits you in heaven!

1 Peter 4:13 "But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed."

James 1:12 "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God promised to those who love him."

Matthew 5:11,12 "Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

Don't bother getting angry and don't bother getting into a debate with any non-believers. The Bible tells us not to because they don't understand spiritual things.

Matthew 13:11 "He replied, 'The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them'."

Matthew 7:6 "Do not give to dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces."

John 14:17 "the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him."

The above is so true, my husband will sit in church, and I am amazed
at the understanding he DOESN'T have, I'm not glorifying myself now,
God forbid that, but it is true that He takes the foolish things of
this world and makes them wise.
1 Corinthians 1 v 27
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world
to confound the wise; and God hath chosen
the weak things of the world to confound the
things which are mighty;

when we think of all the things we know now, through trusting Christ,
that are so stupid but we believed them before we got saved,
He really does give a light to us, a light to the Gentiles.

I still see my Mum, who was saved over 17yrs ago, touching wood,
and using God's name loosly, these things I was also guilty of
but I wasn't saved, I have made her realize about some, but
it's hard when it's your Mother, you don't want to seem 'a know all'
she doesn't touch wood anymore, says she never did, but the
memory isn't as sharp I guess.

2 Timothy 2 v23
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing
that they do gender strifes.

another verse for you Ritchie, I too will remember it.
My most favourite one on this is:
Proverbs 15 v 1
A soft answer turneth away wrath but grievious words stirreth up
anger.

That so works, because no-one can come back at you if your
being 'nice' or 'polite' to them, they find it hard to be angry at you.
I pray they will stop hassling you, and that Jesus will put a hedge
of protection around and about you Ritchie.

Don't be surprised by people's ignorance and arrogance. This person you mention puts his faith in a pathetic and stupid movie/story like Davinci Code. That's his problem and his choice. He mocks the Bible, also his choice. He'll face the consequences if he does not repent. All you can do is pray for someone. You can't force them to listen, can't force them to believe.

John 15:18
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

so true again, thank you too Chad, I've been having a bit of a time
with my son who was saved and after only 4 months back slid.
I often wondered did he have a 'true conversion' in the first place.

As he was married (he's now left again) to a J.W. you've heard me
on about him before in other threads.
well he gobsmacked me on New years Eve, he said he'd come back to
God, a week and a half ago, but still never returned to church, which
I only thought of afterwards.

Then when I gave him a lift to his home, he's living on his own now,
he was talking like him and God were best buddies, I was again
dismayed at his attitude, I tried to tell him we must come only one way
to God through the shed blood on the Cross of Calvery by Jesus Christ,
it is the only way we can come, only one way.
John 14 v 6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
he wasn't having none of it, which then just hit me, he never did have
a true conversion, cause he didn't know how to come.
That is a J.W. teaching as they disregard the Lord Jesus as being God,
and account him as angel Michael, well you know all this.

He is so obnoctious, you just couldn't tell him otherwise,
so it is so right in what you say, we can't force them to listen, or
believe, but pray for them, and walk before them in the way and
glorify God.

Thank you so much for your encouraging replies. Your replies have encouraged me more to trust in God's word.

God bless you.

Ah Ritchie
there is no other word, Amen
keep on soaking in it brother.

Thank you so much Maureen. I'll be praying for your husband too, because nothing is impossible with God when we ask Him in prayer and in faith.

God bless you.

Thank you Ritchie
for you prayer for my husband, I think all on here are praying for him
which is marvelous.

I just can't understand how he walks out each Sunday Night after
the Alter Call is made, and the way the Pastor delivers his sermon
it's so sincere, you'd have to have a heart made of stone, not to
respond.

Every Sunday and week days too, there are differant one's responding
and I praise God for them, but it's never him.
I know it's all in God's timing, but it still doesn't answer my wonder
why he holds back.

Surely drink cannot mean more than Jesus, if he would only realize
Jesus will take that desire away, he's not drink dependant, he
really loves his social life but, be it only once or twice a month,
and only that seldom isn't even enough to give over for Jesus.

It does hurt my heart, but I pray each time to the Lord for it not
to show when we leave the church, and it doesn't I can be as
happy with him on leaving as entering, little does he know inside my
heart aches.

so keep on praying, he needs them and thank you for them.

Take courage

isn't this a typical case of the world's spirit within people clashing against the Holy Spirit? We are "walking in the flesh, (but) we do not war after the flesh" 2 Cor 10:3 - 7.
Stand strong in your faith in Father!

if that be so, then theres a lot of clashing and banging and waring
going with him then, and he sure is putting up one heck of a fight.

God will have the last say I know, and His will shall be done.

I had to laugh though, he told my friend, he was half a Christian,
I overheard, and came into the room, saying what you talking about
no such thing you either are or not, well he was showing her his
cross I bought him, that he wanted, for our anniversary on Christmas
Eve, and at showing this he said he was half a Christian.

He can be so funny sometimes, a lot of the time really, we do have
great laughs together, and I thank God it's like that, as I've went
through terrible times of persecution too with him through his drinking
and veral abuse for my Christianity.
but I count that all gain for Christ.

Rejoice in the lord Ritchie.. Stand up for Jesus.. I was once like that in college making laugh at me with my roomate that I talked about Jesus. When we are strong in the Lord. Satan wants to ruin our life & make us fail.. Lets not be weary in doing good. Gods promises never fails us.. . Pray for them that they will wake up for God.

Bless you for the Lord our God is our strength...Ephesians 6:11:rainbow::happy:
