Reading some statements made on this forum, they sound as if they come from a degenerate, twice dead reprobate! Do some people just cut the following verses out of their Bibles? Those who deny the absolute sovereignty of the Almighty must explain away the following statements in God's word. Does man call God to task on His will?
For what human knows what is truly human except the human spirit that is within? So also no one comprehends what is truly God’s except the Spirit of God. (1Co 2:11 NRSVue)
O the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” (Rom 11:33-34 NRSVue)
Our God is in the heavens; he does whatever he pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands…Those who make them are like them; so are all who trust in them. (Psa 115:3-4, 8 NRSVue)
Whatever the LORD pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. (Psa 135:6 NRSVue)
All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does what he wills with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” (Dan 4:35 NRSVue)
remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like me, declaring the outcome from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, “My purpose shall stand, and I will fulfill my intention,” calling a bird of prey from the east, the man for my purpose from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have planned, and I will do it. (Isa 46:9-11 NRSVue)
The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. (Psa 33:10-11 NRSVue)
I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured his words in my bosom. But he stands alone, and who can dissuade him? What he desires, that he does. For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind. Therefore I am terrified at his presence; when I consider, I am in dread of him. (Job 23:12-15 NRSVue)
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (Rev 4:11 NRSVue)
In Christ we have also obtained an inheritance, having been destined according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to his counsel and will, so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, might live for the praise of his glory. (Eph 1:11-12 NRSVue)
So then he has mercy on whomever he chooses, and he hardens the heart of whomever he chooses. You will say to me then, “Why then does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who indeed are you, a human, to argue with God? Will what is molded say to the one who molds it, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one object for special use and another for ordinary use? (Rom 9:18-21 NRSVue)
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them like a tent to live in, who brings princes to naught and makes the rulers of the earth as nothing. (Isa 40:22-23 NRSVue)
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the revealed things belong to us and to our children forever, to observe all the words of this law. (Deu 29:29 NRSVue)
