Soldier overseas and needing prayer

I've currently been overseas for 3 months now away from home for 4 but anyway I've been struggling with a few things.

1) pornography

Ive been struggling with this for quite some time now. Ever since I was younger. It's gotten worse now that I'm overseas. Honestly I don't know why. I guess because I hardly ever get to see women, or I just need some sort or relief. I'm thinking it's both of those.
I'm not constantly looking at pornography, it's just the fact that I enjoy looking at it and I know that it's wrong and need to stop. If you could pray for me I'd greatly appreciate it.

2) Masturbation

Once again being overseas can be stressful. Being away from home, missing friends and family. Its as if the only thing that makes me feel happy is to masturbate. And of course I know it's wrong and still do it. There is a lot of time to think while on deployment and usually most of my thoughts lead me to lustful fantasies.

3) Bad language

I've always had a bad mouth. I never really say the "F" word but every other word out there I pretty much say. It's as if my mouth is so used to saying such words that it feels like I have no control of it. They just come out.

So if I could just receive prayer on those 3 things I would greatly appreciate it. I've tried and tried to beat them. And I've also prayed but I feel as if I'm not being listened too. I don't blame God, it's all my fault for getting myself there. Now I just need strength from the Lord Jesus Christ to get me out of these addictions. I know I can't do it without him.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

God Bless

will pray for you dear soldier.

Just like to say that you can't beat this just on your own ask The Lord Jesus Christ to do it for you.

Die to yourself and surrender your own flesh to GOD, because the more you do it the harder it get's to keep your mind off of it. it is lust from the flesh so the flesh has to die because it is too powerful, let the Cross of the Lord Jesus Christ fall upon you and break your flesh.

If your not born again get born again ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit so that God can fight this sin for you, surrender everything to Him your whole life everything you have die to self. And God Will pick you up!

God empower you in Jesus Name!

All these issues have the same answer my friend, and we have all struggled at one time or another. If we seek to cut the branches off new ones will soon appear, so instead we must get to the root of the problem lest we find ourselves exhausted from the fight and no closer to a solution.

Read this prayerfully and I (prayerfully) believe it will help:

In sexual (and other types) of sin I find this to be enormously helpful:
Begin to become more aware of the presence of God. Understand that Jesus prayed and the Father sent the Holy Spirit to not only indwell your spirit but to walk side by side with you (Paraclete) . He is always with you loving you, teaching you, drawing you. If you become truly aware of His presence then ask yourself this; Do I really want to do that in front of the Holy Spirit? Do I want to grieve Him? The answer is of course that you do not. When you get to that realization then simply cry out" Jesus give me strength to overcome". Then realize in your heart that He hears every cry, believe Him for that strength and walk away. If you do this you will not fail.
It is also important to put things into perspective. God has equipped us with a desire to procreate and in the right context it is a good thing. However instead of being a beautiful thing between a husband and his bride we often let these desires take on monumental importance and the can become the driving force of our life; that was never meant to be. Anything that starts to control our emotions and thoughts needs to be brought into submission but again only through His power.

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

It is only when we walk in His power and at His leading that we can truly overcome. Indeed if we could have overcome by ourselves He would never have went to that cross.

Dear Brother,
The mission requirements of being deployed can be hard in itself, without the added temptations that seem to have followed you from stateside.

Notice that the 3 items you've mentioned provide self gratification. Yes, even number 3. At times this allows us to be part of the group. Military men have a tendency to get a little rough around the edges during deployments (I'm retired, 20 years myself.)

As when you're home, your focus needs to change from self, to Christ. There are little pocket size bibles you can carry in your ABU's, and have with you at all times. Shoot, if need be when you're showering put it in a baggie and take it with you When the temptation comes around try to get yourself in the habit of touching it, then reflecting on passages that can help. There is a comfort in knowing that His Word is always with you. Bring them from being words on a page, to words that are written on your heart and mind!

Ask him brother: John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

This suffering that you are experiencing is part of it my brother: Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Yet you have Hope in His Word: Psalm 119:114 Thou [art] my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

You have an Advocate in Him: 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

He will provide you the strength:

Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

If you backslide, he'll heal you: Hosea 14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

He will help: Psalm 145:14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all [those that be] bowed down.

He will Deliver you: Psalm 34:19 Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

He'll confirm you: 1 Corinthians 1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, [that ye may be] blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"How desirable is it to be confirmed and kept of Christ for such a purpose as this! How glorious are the hopes of such a privilege, whether for ourselves or others! To be kept by the power of Christ from the power of our own corruption and Satan's temptation, that we may appear without blame in the great day! O glorious expectation, especially when the faithfulness of God comes in to support our hopes!"
—Matthew Henry

He will preserve you: Psalm 121:5-8 The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD [is] thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

My prayer for you brother: Father, keep him close to You so he'll look neither left nor right. That he may keep his eyes focused on You throughout this life Lord. Thank You for Your constant love and guidance in all our lives whose trust is in You! In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen

There are many verses if you seek them out that will provide solace to you. Whatever you need in times of trouble. As soon as those thoughts come to mind or the word leaves your mouth, immediately turn to Him brother! Challenge those thoughts and words with thoughts of God and His Word! Bind them and banish them and replace them with the Word of God my brother!

Praying for you brother.

I will remember you in prayer. All branches of the service seem to be used by satan to seek and destroy any one he can. Be strong, be close to the LORD. Be as involved with any church services that are offered, and seek to find others who are getteing together for prayer. Other Christians just like yourself are struggling as you are. Jesus will never allow more than you can bare, just trust hime. Blessings, and thank you for serving!
