Bruised and battered, I stood at the door to the church. The tall steeple rising towards the heavens. My hands grew sweaty. Is this a good idea? Is there anywhere else to turn?
My eyes are red, one blue and purple. My shirt is torn and my body is broken. I take a step towards the door, but I can't bring myself to open it.
You're dirty. You're not worthy to open the door. What happened tonight was you fault. The voices in my head scream at me.
Collapsing to the ground, I cry out. "Help me!" Tears stream down my face. I hear people pass as they walk into the church.
My heart feels like it did only hears ago. Someone ripped it out of my chest and laughed at me. I looked up. The moon shined so bright.
Then, I felt hands touching me, but no one was there. My child, a voice said, you are beautiful to me. Tonight was not your fault.
Warmth filed my whole being. Hope. Can I believe the voice?
Hope in me, my child. Hope in me.
