Sell Your Possessions and Properties

The only one lacking understanding is you, rejecting this basic teaching of the Messiah.
Oh come on now,
So quick to judge me lacking understanding of Gods Most Holy Written Word and you take what is written and turn it into something else.

Believers give of free will.
We give because we Love our God and His People.

We give or sow things into others. We give and we reap and we sow more.

We are Not Required to sell our possessions and properties.

Required takes away joyful and cheerful giving and God seems to like a Joyful giver.

So please, if all you have is to accuse me of lacking in understanding Gods Word, save it.

I am not claiming to know it all after all Scripture says we only know in part so that means there are parts we don't know.

However I aint a Spiritual idiot either.

Besides I said that particular statement lacked understanding.

Blessings and Love in Christ.

Clearly you know nothing, and refuse to sell your possessions, just as the rich man refused to, and did not enter the kingdom of God,

So therefore every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses, is not able to be my disciple.
Luke 14:33

Yeshuah answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Matthew 19:21

When Yeshuah heard his answer, he said, “There is still one thing you haven’t done. Sell your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Luke 18:22

Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.
Luke 12:33

Looking at the man, Yeshuah felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
Mark 10:21

They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.
Acts 2:45

And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit aeonial life?” And Yeshuah said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’” And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” When Yeshuah heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. Yeshuah, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
Luke 18:18-25

All believers are called to sell their possessions and properties. Read this bible study on why this is so, and why this mandate has not changed, Sell Your Possessions and Properties | Wisdom of God .

The bible study is also available in Spanish here Vende Tus Posesiones y Propiedades | Sabiduría de Dios .
Another study that is not a study but a list of scriptures to prove an erroneous opinion. If you did an actual study, my friend, it might be worth looking at...I'm not trying to be rude, but if you're going to teach it should be accurate, and honest.

"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me." Mark 10:21

That man lacked one thing, but are we all lacking the same thing or are there differences between different persons? What he lacked was an open door to his own heart for God to enter in... He blocked the way with his own love of his material possessions. Certainly as Paul writes here regarding the love of money...

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." I Tim 6:10

But he writes the "love" of money, not the "possession" of money is that root. This speaks of putting worldly possession first rather not having any worldly things. If it were possession and we were all obedient always to God then none of us would be here regularly for lack of computer access. Who owns our computer or if we must pay to access it, where did we get the money? Did we cast in a line and pull out a fish and open him up to find a coin? Not possession, but love of money or mammon or material things is the root of all evil. Some of us may indeed have the problem of the man in Mark 10:21, but I doubt that all of us are in that exact same place.

All we really need to do is follow what Jesus tells us here:

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

As we are seeking those things, the Holy Spirit indeed may tell us to get rid of this or of that possession, but we should wait on the Lord for such an instruction before deciding that it is THE necessary thing for us to do.

Give God the glory!
