Secure in God's Sovereignty

As believers we can be secure in God's love: Romans 8:28-29. Very few Christians would deny that God is loving and that we can experience His love. But still many Christians don't understand that they are not in control of their own life. Sometimes we feel loved by God but we are still afraid of stepping out in faith or taking a risk, we live our lives in anxiety, stress and worry, because we think that we, mere human beings, are in control. We are afraid of making mistakes, and afraid of ruining everything.

But we can be secure not only in God's love but also in God's sovereignty.

God's Sovereignty means God is in control and He has supreme authority.

His supreme authority and control is the reason why we must worship Him alone.

Nothing happens in the whole universe outside of God's authority. Nothing, absolutely nothing. That even includes our mistakes and failings. That even includes what you ate for breakfast.

I believe that many people have had this experience - you prepare to drive somewhere, but you are delayed, you are late, and you come across a car accident, and you realize that if you had left on time, you might have been the one in that accident. This is an example of God's sovereignty at work.

In God's eyes, there is no such thing as early or late. To God, everything is "on time", because He is the one in control of time.

Although things seem to happen randomly or for no apparent reason, the unseen God is behind it all, and especially in the lives of His children who have surrendered their life to Him.

Revelation 21:6 - God is above and before all things, and present everywhere.
Col 1:16 - God created all things and holds it all together.

Romans 11:33 - God knows everything.

Jer 32:17 - God has already determined and orchestrated everything that will happen in our lives and in the world.

Psalm 103:19 Even satan has to ask God's permission to do anything.

God is control of our circumstances, but He allows us to make our own decisions.
Otherwise every sin we committed would be God's fault if he controls all of our actions.
God's sovereign will happens no matter what we do, but his permissive will allows to make our own mistakes.

Yes, even though we make the choice, even our decisions are sometimes influenced from God or satan.
The Bible is full of examples of apparent mistakes which turn out to be God's sovereign will.
I don't think there is such a thing as mistakes from God's point of view. The Bible never says that satan was a mistake, or fallen humanity was a mistake, rather it was in God's plan all along.
