There are some who believe God comes to search us out. And so he does, but some also believe men are unable to search God out. Yet the Bible doesn't seem to support this.
Deu 4:29; "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.
1 Chron 16:10; Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
1 Chron 22:19; Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
2 Chron 11:16; And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
Now of course, we are free not to "seek the Lord if we choose".
2Chron 12:14; And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.
Psa 14:2; The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God.
Psa 14:3; They have all turned aside, together they have become corrupt; There is no one who does good, not even one.
Yet despite this, there are many who DO seek the Lord.
Psa 34:10; The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Psa 63:1; A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.
Psa 70:4; Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, "Let God be magnified."
Isa 55:6; Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Does God seek us out also? Yes of course, but there is nothing that says this has to be a one way affair.
Eze 34:11; For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.
Eze 34:12; As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.
Amos 5:4; For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
Matt 6:33; But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matt 7:7; Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
The main problem with predestination theory is that many churches have stopped evangelizing. After all, God is in control, and if he wants them to be saved, he'll go get them.
Now this does happen occasionally. Saul (who became Paul) on the road to Damascus could be an example of this. But this doesn't seem to happen very often, not even in the Bible.
In fact we are told to go forth and spread the Gospel. This is our primary mission.
Faith in God doesn't magically appear from no where.
Rom 10:17; So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
God has given us ALL a measure of faith.
Rom 12:3; For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
So if we already have some faith, and faith in God comes by hearing, how do people hear?
The great commission says...
Mar 16:15; And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Rom 10:14; How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15; How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"
Matt 10:7; "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'
What did the disciples do?
Acts 14:7; and there they continued to preach the gospel.
Rom 1:15; So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.
Eph 3:8; To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,
Jas 5:20; let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
In fact could preaching the Gospel be one of these works (that don't save us) yet God has prepared for us?
John 9:4; "We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.
Eph 2:10; For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Deu 4:29; "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.
