I am a chunk of marble waiting to be sculpted
Jesus is the sculpter waiting to sculpt me

He picks up His chisel and hammer
and begins to hammer the chisel into me
knocking off chunks at first that are not wanted.

I feel the blade of the chisel
and the impact of the hammer
as it bears down and into me.

I am in the sculptors hands
and He knows what needs to go
and what will remain

I am a work in progress
I am unsure what the end result will look like
but I do know I will look so much better
and be of so much more worth
than how I first started out.

I will be a master piece

Dear sister comingjoy

I have read your poem a number of times...

I imagine our beloved Saviour chiselling away all traces of self, self pride, self glory, self pity.......a painful humbling process....but the end result.....

When He hath tried me I shall come forth as gold...Job 23:10

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2

We are being prepared for our eternal home where we will worship Him in glory.

From the Inside Out

There is a popular Hillsong chorus that I love to sing these days. It talks about "From the inside out". I think many times when we look at a sculpture and it's beauty, we think of how it looks on the outside. We are all beautiful in our own way, and ComingJoy is certainly a handsome woman. But I wonder if most of the chiseling God does, is on the inside of us. The chunks of pride, stubboness, selfishness, I think those are the ones God cares about, not so much how we look on the outside. I know ComingJoyknows this, and I know he is doing a wonderful job on her outside, but more so on her inside, and that is saying alot because I think she is very beautiful on the outside!
