Satan and Fallen Angels

Some believe the "original sin" was when Adam and Eve ate the fruit in the garden. But that wasn't the first rebellion against God.
It was just the first rebellion by man.

Most scholars believe this is a parallel allegory passage. That's just a fancy term that means it's about two different things or people at the same time.

Ezek 28:1; The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
Ezek 28:2; "Son of man, say to the leader of Tyre, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Because your heart is lifted up And you have said, 'I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods In the heart of the seas'; Yet you are a man and not God, Although you make your heart like the heart of God—
Ezek 28:3; Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; There is no secret that is a match for you.
Ezek 28:4; "By your wisdom and understanding You have acquired riches for yourself And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.
Ezek 28:5; "By your great wisdom, by your trade You have increased your riches And your heart is lifted up because of your riches—
Ezek 28:6; Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, 'Because you have made your heart Like the heart of God,
Ezek 28:7; Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon you, The most ruthless of the nations. And they will draw their swords Against the beauty of your wisdom And defile your splendor.
Ezek 28:8; 'They will bring you down to the pit, And you will die the death of those who are slain In the heart of the seas.
Ezek 28:9; 'Will you still say, "I am a god," In the presence of your slayer, Though you are a man and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?
Ezek 28:10; 'You will die the death of the uncircumcised By the hand of strangers, For I have spoken!' declares the Lord GOD!"'"

Ezek 28:11; Again the word of the LORD came to me saying,
Ezek 28:12; "Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
Ezek 28:13; "You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared.
Ezek 28:14; "You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.
Ezek 28:15; "You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness was found in you.
Ezek 28:16; "By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire.
Ezek 28:17; "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.
Ezek 28:18; "By the multitude of your iniquities, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you.
Ezek 28:19; "All who know you among the peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever."'"

So then... who is this passage about. Most scholars believe there was Kingdom of Tyre. Even secular history supports this.

And there likely was a king of the kingdom ( can it be a kingdom without a king? ) In fact there were several kings of Tyre.
However, this kingdom only goes back to about 1500BC. Even if you use the Bible time-line. Adam and Eve would have at least 4500 years before that.
Notice in verse 13 it says you were in the garden of Eden. Was the king of Tyre in the garden of Eden? Unlikely since it was 4500 years earlier.
In Verse 14, it says you were the anointed cherub (angel). So again it's unlikely the King of Tyre was the angel in the garden of Eden.
So then who is it talking about here? Most scholars believe this is about Satan. Verse 16 also says this being was a cherub (angel).

Verse 16 says this being was "cast down" from the mountain of God. This is possibly the same incident Jesus mentions in Luke 10:18;
In verse 8 above, it says this being will be brought "down to the pit". This likely coincides with Rev 20:2-3;

Another of these passages is in Isaiah.

Isa 14:3; And it will be in the day when the LORD gives you rest from your pain and turmoil and harsh service in which you have been enslaved,
Isa 14:4; that you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon, and say, "How the oppressor has ceased, And how fury has ceased!
Isa 14:5; "The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of rulers
Isa 14:6; Which used to strike the peoples in fury with unceasing strokes, Which subdued the nations in anger with unrestrained persecution.
Isa 14:7; "The whole earth is at rest and is quiet; They break forth into shouts of joy.
Isa 14:8; "Even the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, 'Since you were laid low, no tree cutter comes up against us.'
Isa 14:9; "Sheol from beneath is excited over you to meet you when you come; It arouses for you the spirits of the dead, all the leaders of the earth; It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones.
Isa 14:10; "They will all respond and say to you, 'Even you have been made weak as we, You have become like us.
Isa 14:11; 'Your pomp and the music of your harps Have been brought down to Sheol; Maggots are spread out as your bed beneath you And worms are your covering.'
Isa 14:12; "How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations!
Isa 14:13; "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north.
Isa 14:14; 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.'
Isa 14:15; "Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, To the recesses of the pit.
Isa 14:16; "Those who see you will gaze at you, They will ponder over you, saying, 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,
Isa 14:17; Who made the world like a wilderness And overthrew its cities, Who did not allow his prisoners to go home?'
Isa 14:18; "All the kings of the nations lie in glory, Each in his own tomb.

Again, most scholars consider this a parallel allegory. On the surface it seems Israel is taunting Babylon. But it could be about Satan.
In verse 12 here. The NASB Bible says "star of the morning". The King James says Lucifer. Note: Lucifer is not this beings name. Simply a title for him.
But again, like the Cherub in Ezekiel above, this being is "fallen from heaven". It's unlikely any Babylonian humans were ever in heaven.
This is why many scholars believe this passage is also about Satan.

Rev 12:4; And his tail *swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.

This verse is commonly interpreted to mean, that when Satan rebelled, he took about a 3rd of the angels with him. (apparently OSAS doesn't apply to angels).
I suppose it's possible it could have been a third of them. In any case, we do know that some angels besides Satan fell.

Jesus says the Lake of Fire was created for these angels.
Matt 25:41; "Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
Of course Satan himself eventually gets thrown into the Lake of Fire in Rev 20:10;

Jude 1:5; Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.
Jude 1:6; And angels who did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode, He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day,
Jude 1:7; just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

Jude says some angels abandoned their "proper abode" and left their "domain". It says here they went after strange flesh.
King James says these angels were like the people of Sodom and Gomorrah and committed fornication.
Jude 1:7[KJV] Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

The English standard version and few others say the angels committed sexual immorality.
(ESV) just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

This controversial, but many scholars believe this pertains to Genesis 6:2-4; Which seems to say that some of the fallen angels took human wives for themselves and had sexual relations with them.

Only two angels are mentioned by name in the Protestant Bible.

Gabriel is mentioned twice in Daniel and twice in Luke.

Michael is mentioned in Daniel, Jude and Revelation.

Satan, Lucifer, Devil are simply titles. None of those are a name.

We often think of angels as human-like creatures with wings. But the Bible describes them quite a bit differently.

Ezek 1:4; As I looked, behold, a storm wind was coming from the north, a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire.
Ezek 1:5; Within it there were figures resembling four living beings. And this was their appearance: they had human form.
Ezek 1:6; Each of them had four faces and four wings.
Ezek 1:7; Their legs were straight and their feet were like a calf's hoof, and they gleamed like burnished bronze.
Ezek 1:8; Under their wings on their four sides were human hands. As for the faces and wings of the four of them,
Ezek 1:9; their wings touched one another; their faces did not turn when they moved, each went straight forward.
Ezek 1:10; As for the form of their faces, each had the face of a man; all four had the face of a lion on the right and the face of a bull on the left, and all four had the face of an eagle.
Ezek 1:11; Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above; each had two touching another being, and two covering their bodies.
Ezek 1:12; And each went straight forward; wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go, without turning as they went.
Ezek 1:13; In the midst of the living beings there was something that looked like burning coals of fire, like torches darting back and forth among the living beings. The fire was bright, and lightning was flashing from the fire.
Ezek 1:14; And the living beings ran to and fro like bolts of lightning.
Ezek 1:15; Now as I looked at the living beings, behold, there was one wheel on the earth beside the living beings, for each of the four of them.
Ezek 1:16; The appearance of the wheels and their workmanship was like sparkling beryl, and all four of them had the same form, their appearance and workmanship being as if one wheel were within another.
Ezek 1:17; Whenever they moved, they moved in any of their four directions without turning as they moved.
Ezek 1:18; As for their rims they were lofty and awesome, and the rims of all four of them were full of eyes round about.
Ezek 1:19; Whenever the living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. And whenever the living beings rose from the earth, the wheels rose also.
Ezek 1:20; Wherever the spirit was about to go, they would go in that direction. And the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
Ezek 1:21; Whenever those went, these went; and whenever those stood still, these stood still. And whenever those rose from the earth, the wheels rose close beside them; for the spirit of the living beings was in the wheels.
Ezek 1:22; Now over the heads of the living beings there was something like an expanse, like the awesome gleam of crystal, spread out over their heads.
Ezek 1:23; Under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward the other; each one also had two wings covering its body on the one side and on the other.
Ezek 1:24; I also heard the sound of their wings like the sound of abundant waters as they went, like the voice of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army camp; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.
Ezek 1:25; And there came a voice from above the expanse that was over their heads; whenever they stood still, they dropped their wings.
Ezek 1:26; Now above the expanse that was over their heads there was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance; and on that which resembled a throne, high up, was a figure with the appearance of a man.
Ezek 1:27; Then I noticed from the appearance of His loins and upward something like glowing metal that looked like fire all around within it, and from the appearance of His loins and downward I saw something like fire; and there was a radiance around Him.

Isa 6:2; Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

Ezek 10:4; Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub to the threshold of the temple, and the temple was filled with the cloud and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the LORD.
Ezek 10:5; Moreover, the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when He speaks.
Ezek 10:6; It came about when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, "Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim," he entered and stood beside a wheel.
Ezek 10:7; Then the cherub stretched out his hand from between the cherubim to the fire which was between the cherubim, took some and put it into the hands of the one clothed in linen, who took it and went out.
Ezek 10:8; The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings.
Ezek 10:9; Then I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside each cherub; and the appearance of the wheels was like the gleam of a Tarshish stone.
Ezek 10:10; As for their appearance, all four of them had the same likeness, as if one wheel were within another wheel.
Ezek 10:11; When they moved, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went; but they followed in the direction which they faced, without turning as they went.
Ezek 10:12; Their whole body, their backs, their hands, their wings and the wheels were full of eyes all around, the wheels belonging to all four of them.
Ezek 10:13; The wheels were called in my hearing, the whirling wheels.
Ezek 10:14; And each one had four faces. The first face was the face of a cherub, the second face was the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
Ezek 10:15; Then the cherubim rose up. They are the living beings that I saw by the river Chebar.
Ezek 10:16; Now when the cherubim moved, the wheels would go beside them; also when the cherubim lifted up their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels would not turn from beside them.
Ezek 10:17; When the cherubim stood still, the wheels would stand still; and when they rose up, the wheels would rise with them, for the spirit of the living beings was in them.
Ezek 10:18; Then the glory of the LORD departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim.
Ezek 10:19; When the cherubim departed, they lifted their wings and rose up from the earth in my sight with the wheels beside them; and they stood still at the entrance of the east gate of the LORD'S house, and the glory of the God of Israel hovered over them.

The Seraphim are only mentioned in Isa 6. But the Cherubim are mentioned over 60 times in the Bible.

There are no women (female) angels mentioned in the Bible. Although some believe Zech 5:9; to support this.
