Saint Farmer John
Believe it or not if you are a child of God, then you are a “farmer”!!! I really dislike yard work, but I don't mind watering plants, because it is easy to me. The Bible says, “...WHAT EVER A MAN SOW'S THAT SHALL HE ALSO REAP....” ( Gal 6:7) If that's not farming I don't know what is!!! A Christian farmer is never off the clock, there is no such a thing as “times out” in the realm of the spirit. Remember back when we use to play games when we were younger, and when we wanted to do something not according to the rules of the game, we would say, “times out”? There is no “times out” in the Kingdom of God, because we are always sowing seed whether we know it or not by the words of our mouth!!! As Jesus once said.....
Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, IF YE HAD FAITH AS A GRAIN OF MUSTARD SEED, YE MIGHT SAY unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
If we had faith as a “seed” we might “say” what we believe, and it would happen, and if we don't have faith, we also would speak out our “fear”,and that to would come to pass in our lives. As Job once said, “that which I have greatly feared has come upon me and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”
” (Job 3:25)
So, either way we are reaping today what we have sown in the days gone by. The question now is, are you enjoying your harvest? If not, then we need to sow better “seed” then we have in the past!!
There is a very powerful set of scriptures that God himself told us about in the Old Testament....
Isa 55:10 "THE RAIN AND SNOW COME DOWN FROM THE HEAVENS AND STAY ON THE GROUND TO WATER THE EARTH. THEY CAUSE THE GRAIN TO GROW, PRODUCING SEED FOR THE FARMER and bread for the hungry.
Isa 55:11 IT IS THE SAME WITH MY WORD. I SEND IT OUT, AND IT ALWAYS PRODUCES FRUIT. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. (NLT)
In exactly the same way the rain, and snow that falls from the sky, and waters the earth, it causes (forces) the earth to produce fruit, and more seed. So does the Word of God (like a seed) once it is spoken causes its fruit to be produced!!! Whose is the one that supplies to us the proper seed to sow?
2Co 9:10 FOR GOD IS THE ONE WHO PROVIDES SEED FOR THE FARMER and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
The Word of God is the “SEED” we are suppose to be sowing, not our interpretation of what we think it says!!!
1Pe 4:11 WHOEVER SPEAKS, LET IT BE WITH GOD'S WORDS. Whoever serves, do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God will be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (NET)
What is interesting is that the Word of God is both the “seed”, and the “water” the seed needs to grow!!! (Eph 5:26 Eze 36:25) Which means we speak the Word of God, and then we continuously water the seed by confessing the same Word.
